Royal Prestige Bridal giveaway is a scam!

Re: Royal Prestige Bridal giveaway is a scam!

• I feel like an absolute idiot after reading all you posts. I should have been wiser but my trustworthiness and deep desire for a honeymoon we can't afford got the best of me. I went to the royal prestige show and liked their cookware but refused to pay the price and just wanted the giveaways they said went with it no strings attached. I sent my travel certificate off to Odenza marketing company and the fees they said were involved which was to be my only cost and a refundable deposit. All in all I have sent them $178 and haven't heard back from them in over two months when the paper says it should only take up to 3-4 weeks. Their website will no longer even come up and am desperately searching for a phone number to call to try to do some sort of damage control. I am very depressed right now that I let myself get in this mess and highly doubt that I will ever get my money back. All I can say is please, anyone reading this I followed their directions step by step and I still seem to be getting scammed so if you hear of this royal prestige or Odenza marketing company please don't respond. Its a very dissappointing feeling to know that someone is using you for your hard in money and that you may never see it again. I'm very dissappointed in the way society has become and hope I can save someone else the heartache that I am now feeling. Thanks for listening.
• IT IS ABSOLUTELY A SCAM! I refuse to pick up their calls, they have called me THREE TIMES in a matter of 10 minutes! Next time they call me, I am going to pick up, start bawling and tell them that I found my fiance cheating on me with another man!! Maybe then they will stop PESTERING ME!! Tongue Out

These poor people end up paying up to $2100 for some crappy pots and pans by scare tactings saying that regular pots and pans can cause alzheimers and they CLAIM that their statements are backed up by Mayo Clinic (which they have no documentation of) they are pushy, rude and taking advantage of newly engaged couples!!
Please avoid this scam!!!!!
• My fianc and I attended this show last night and were totally blown away....so this morning I googled recipes and found all of these horrible reviews...now I'm totally scared to get my set! Does anyone on here actually own a set? Or is this speculation?

• I've been getting calls from Dinner 4 Two for MONTHS (since I attended a bridal show in January) but have never picked up. I can't vouch for anything about Royal Prestige, but my fiance and I did attend a similar presentation about stainless steel, waterless cookware from Simplicity Gourmet. It sounds very similar - really expensive cookware presentation, "free" two-night, three-day trip to the Caribbean. We ended up buying the cookware and I am SO HAPPY with it. It is really fantastic quality and I don't feel like we got scammed. We decided not to take the trip since it only covers the hotel and plane tickets are so expensive. The only thing that bothers me is that the monthly fees charged with the payment plan are almost as much as the payments themselves, which is annoying. So beware of that, because I didn't know that going in. But if this cookware is anything like Simplicity Gourmet's, it's totally worth it and one of the best investments we've made.
• I recieved the same call last night from the wedding show I attended yesterday, but I thought what could it hurt? So my fiance and I attended Dinner4Two tonight and it was actually pretty cool. The guy that presented it was very entertaining and educational. He cooked us a small meal to try and obviously showed the products the company was advertising. He didn't pressure us to buy, but he did tell us the pricing and if you buy that night there are discounts and better deals. You just have to go in there deciding if you will or will not buy this product (or consider to or not) and if so, keep a price in mind and don't go above it. Since it is top of the line cookware, it comes with a pretty hefty price-tag but seems like it is amazing cookware. The hotel stay requires you to pay the taxes for each night; and the champagne flutes and knife set require shipping and handling (which I was told on the phone). Basically, there was no negative for me to go today (just cost of transportation). I got to try some new food, entered a few contests, and have a cheaper hotel stay (or set of wedding bands but we choose the hotel stay). I'm not sure if I will buy the knives yet or champagne flute that you can personalize with your names. Overall, I had a good experience... try it before you judge it  Smile
•   I just got a call from these people today. My fiance is in the military, so I was planning on going with my mother or my future sister-in-law. I am definitely not planning on buying anything there! I'm essentially going to check out these gifts and hopefully get the coupon for the wedding bands. We already have mine but we don't have very much money for his, so if I have to pay $25.00 shipping for it, I don't care all that much. I was wondering if anyone had gone through with it and gotten the rings. It all does sound a bit too good to be true. Also, I am a little hesitant because I haven't gone to a single bridal show or anything yet so I have no idea how they got my phone number.
I got a call from Royal Prestige today saying I won a Bridal Package from the wedding fair last month. They said I'd get a 3 day/2 night hotel package, some gift certificates, and a year long subscription to a coupon website. All I had to do was go to a cookware demonstration for their company. I googled them and turns out it's a huge scam! Don't fall for it if you get the call!  I looked up the grocery coupon website and it is definitely a scam. They want you to pay for fees and shipping and they "pay you back" with extra coupons. RIGHT. The website for the hotel accommodations seems cheap and information-less too. They have a pretty bad report on this consumer website: <a href="http://www.consumeraffairs.com/homeowners/royal_prestige_bridal.html" rel="nofollow">http://www.consumeraffairs.com/homeowners/royal_prestige_bridal.html</a>
IT IS KNOT!  I went to the Royal Prestige presentation and was AMAZED by the presentation, their customer service and the product!  Yes!  I purchased Royal Prestige and it has far exceeded my expectations.  The best cookware I have ever seen used and bought.  It's amazing.  If not for the design and solid craftsmanship of the Royal Prestige cookware I would have destroyed any other.  (And possibly my place of residence!)  You see........ I severely burned some chicken breast in the Royal Prestige cookware for over 45 minutes.  No smoke damage, no fire ....just a bad odor in my house.  Anything else would have caught fire and did some major damage.  Not only is Royal Prestige a great investment but it cooks your food easier, healthier and tastier than any other....plus.............it's SAFER!  I recommend Royal Prestige cookware to anybody.

And how much were you paid to advocate for this company and when did you work for them. I have recently been reading all the reviews after attending the presentation and AM ABSOLUTELY KICKING MYSELF for attending and being suckered into believing anything that was said. My research revealed that my presenter was unable to leave tonight because he was waiting for his girlfriend...why? because he was arrested for a DWI recently (thanks google). The cookware is OBVIOUSLY not what is expected and there are 99% of people submitting negative reviews concerning this product!  <img src="http://cdn.cl9.vanillaforums.com/downloaded/ver1.0/content/scripts/tinymce/plugins/emotions/images/smiley-yell.gif" border="0" alt="Yell" title="Yell" />
• Cbrooke - you have posted your comments on every Royal Prestige review on the internet that I have come across. It is OBVIOUS that you are affiliated with this company and you should be ashamed for your lies.
• I just got engaged a month ago, have not been to any bridal shows or booths, and have only signed up for sites online yet they also contacted me claiming they drew my name for a bridal package... I never entered my name into any bridal drawing of any sort. Luckily I didn't answer my phone when they called so they left a message. However after reading these reviews, I'll continue to ignore their calls.
I Just got a call.  They told me that "a friend" put my name into a bridal honeymoon contest at an exhibit in Portland and the Holiday Inn by the Bay last month.  Such Bull Sh*t because I didn't even let people know I was getting married until last week!!!  But I did go to David's Bridal last week.... so obviously they got my number from DB. NOT COOL.

I also agree they received my info from DB! That is the only other place I have submitted my weddinginfo to other than on here... Not cool at all.
• HOLD UP FOLKS!! Hear me out. My name is Cathrin. I'm 30yrs old and I'm a stay-at-home-mom/tattoo artist. You can look me up on Facebook if you want. In no way, shape, or form do I now or have I ever worked for this company or any company associated with them. BTW I fully intend to repost this on any thread I find regarding Royal Prestige or Dinner 4 Two.
My husband and I got the same call that most everyone did. They offered a 3 day 2 night stay in the Bahamas and 2 free rings through JVL Jewelry and all we had to do was watch the Royal Prestige presentation. The rep specifically told us to leave the wallet at home because she didn't want us to feel pressured to buy anything.
We went to the presentation. The salesman's name was Chanse. He worked out of Nashville. He was absolutely HILARIOUS! I'd love to be best friends with that guy. He was just that cool. We actually talked about tattoos after the presentation, but thats another story.
So anyway, he showed us how the cookware works. He showed us the china and the crystal glasses and the stainless steel spoons. He explained all the free gifts. And at the end of the show, we ate the little samples of the food. Then everyone decided whether they wanted to buy the product or not. With all of the gifts that were being thrown in for free, (some of which we've already taken advantage of) we decided to go ahead and get the 7 piece cookware set. We also got the china and 4 glasses.
That night, when we got home, we ordered the 2 free rings from JVL Jewelry. There was a shipping fee, just like Chanse told us there would be. We paid it, got the rings less than a week later.
Shortly thereafter, we received the cookware. Pretty, shiny, heavy as ****. My brother and one of the guys from my church even went so far as to bang the china plate on the wall like the salesman had done during the presentation. Not so much as a scratch :)
Over the course of the next week, I read through the care and instructions book twice, just to make sure I understood everything.
Since then, I've made pork chops and chicken with no oil or grease or sauce in the pan. Followed the instructions and guess what??? IT DIDN'T STICK! Shocking, right? I made mashed potatoes without boiling them. I used the smaller dutch oven and lid with the small strainer. The potatoes are so much tastier this way.... Tonight, I made a 2.5lb pot roast, complete with onions, garlic, potatoes and carrots. Followed the instructions and actually used the recipe in the cookbook they sent with it and guess what??? It was completely cook, tender and juicy and friggin' delicious, from start to finish, in 1 hour. ONE HOUR. I kid you not.
Everything worked the way Chanse said it would. EXACTLY the way he said it would. I've run those pans through the dishwasher. They come out just as perfect as the day we got them. The little whistles on the tops of the lids even whistle at me when they're supposed to. And do you know, within that first 3 days after we placed the order, you know the 3 day grace period they give you to cancel the order if you change your mind, I called the Viva Wyndham Resort (I even made sure to get the corporate phone number online) and I verified that the 3 day 2 night stay in the Bahamas (which our salesman actually increased to a 5 day 4 night stay) was actually a legitimate offer. You have to pay a tax fee because its outside the US (just like Chanse said warned us we would when we bought the stuff) but everything else is free. EVERYTHING. Meals, activities, drinks, GRATUITIES, all of it! Its literally all inclusive, and it is free with the promotion we got for buying the cookware.
So, all that being said, I fail to see where the scam is.... It sounds more to me like people either weren't using the cookware right or they had a bad salesman. Ours gave us the phone number to their office in Nashville. I've called and talked to him since then to ask questions. Its real, people. You can look me up on Facebook if you want in order to prove that I am who I say I am. Send me a friend request. I don't mind. Message me on here and I'll give you my name so you can find me on there.
Just thought you guys might like to know whats up ^_^

-Cathrin

• On Thursday, August 30, I was at a football game with my fiancee and family when I got a text from a number random number. The person who texted me was a rep for Southern Bridal Registry/ Royal Prestige. (Side note: how unprofessional is it to text someone trying to sell them anything in the first place?!) Here is word-for-word how the conversation went:

Rep from Southern Bridal Registry: A friend of yours has registered you and your fiance for a bridal gift. Please call me via phone @6158322387 ext. 235 so that I can make arrangements for you to receive your package.

Me: Who are you and why do you have my number???

Rep from Southern Bridal Registry: A bridal shop, a tuxedo shop, a bridal magazine, not.com or the wire

Me: I know about your scam. I'm not interested. Don't text or call this number again, please.

Me: I'm very busy and don't have time to deal with bulls**. Thanks. :)

Rep from Southern Bridal Registry: Not bs and I understand...but watch it just doing my job. :)

Me: Watch it? You're the one who texted me. As I recall, I just told you NOT to text me again. Find someone else to harass.

Rep from Southern Bridal Registry: Get a Life!

Me: Do not send me another message...end of discussion.

After this incident, I called the number this rep provided on four different occasions trying to get a hold of the manager. After a week of this and no call back, I decided to file a complaint with the BBB. Today, I get a letter stating on their first try to contact the company, there was respone. They contacted them again twelve days later and that is when the company responded. The person in the company who responded to the complaint claims that the representative has since been fired and I welcome to one of their vacation vouchers. I received the vacation vouches in the mail today, but I'm not sure if they're legit since they don't even list which resorts it's good for. My dad was in the travel industry for a long time so I'm going to have him look at this before we send them any of our money.
• I went to the presenation last night.  They called me and said I had won a gift and all I had to do was go to the cook show.  The girl seemed friendly and said that it was going to be an Italian cook show.  I asked how they got my number and she started listening a few things like bridal shows, the knot, tuxedo shops, etc.
We went and listned to the guy go on and on about his cookware.  He cooked 2 chicken breats, and about 2 cups of brocoli and carrots and a box of Jiffy cake mix.  He cut it up and used it to feed about 15 couples and we had to share with our fiance.
Then he started telling us how much they cost and how we would get our gift.
We waited to talk to one of the reps that were there.  The girl was new, nervous and my fiance knew it was sketchy from the beginning but we wanted to see if we oculd really get a free gift.
We did.  She was going to give us a coupon but we would have to pay 20 for shipping but my fiance said he didnt want to have it engraved and so she got nervous and ran into the room to get two champange glasses.  They weren't boxed or wrapped.  I'm guessing she got the ones they used for presentation.  She also gave us a piece of paper that says we have to send 100 dollars and pay taxes for the VIVA resorts.
We are going to do more reaserch on the resorts before we send in money.
I just left the presentation. All I can say great things about this company. You don't have to purchase anything all you need to do is attend the presentation. Without purchasing anything I recieved a 2 night 3 day all inclusive resort to my choice of Bahamas, DR, or Mexico. I also recieved a voucher for two wedding bands, toasting flutes, and matching aprons. We decided to purchase the essentail set which is the smallest set they offer. For my purchase I got 50 dollars off and free mixing bowls. I also got a free 4 day carnival cruise. This is NOT a SCAM. I have all my information in reguards to booking my cruise and my all inclusive resort. I have nothing but good things to say about this company.
Posted by emmaraison
I also just left a presentation, I'm glad I didn't check online to see if this was a scam first because it probably would have influenced me not to go because I also felt really fishy about getting a call over the phone, ***HOWEVER**  I used to call people too, I know how this works and I'll admit, I am on a bunch of Wedding sites, I've entered to win free bridal dresses, they all sell out your number (especially David's Bridal). So I decided to give it a go, take the man and if anything, at least we could get some free gifts. I expected to be sold to.

The presenter Jason, was awesome. He was funny, witty, and was a great salesperson. He gave us our free gifts at the beginning of the speal and didn't high pressure sales us throughout. He through out a TON of facts about the products in our current kitchens that checked out. Health information that made a ton of sense and also checked out. Answered any questions we had on the spot without a studder and what seemed an honest answer. The products that he demonstrated were had-to-have products and even though they are very costly, are still worth the price...but that's because I'm a gotta have it kind of girl and even though I'm not normally the type that just willing falls for something (especially since I have a sales background), I'm also an impulse buyer (and to my demise so is my Fiance). But the chicken he cooked was PERFECT, it was delicious, flavorful, and maintained its size, it didn't really shrink at ALL!!! The best part, it only took him like 15 minutes to cook it plus another pot full of carrots and broccoli right there in front of us. The carrots tasted incredible! and he didn't have to add cinnamon or brown sugar or anything to make them taste good! they tasted super flavorful all on their own...I couldn't believe it. I don't like broccoli...but my Fiance said it was better than any than he'd ever tasted.

We did purchase the 5 piece cookware set (like $1500) and got the black china (as a bonus) for ordering right there and not waiting (again because I'm a gotta have it girl). I hope it works out, I'll keep you posted if I get my stuff. I suggest at least going...If you're a sucker for buying into a good product, that's the "scam." And you only have yourself to blame, not them. It's called buyers remorse. And I'll admit I have it too, but, when you spend that much money...you're always going to have it. And no one wants to give out that much money to someone they don't know willingly. I understand, and I sympathise.

• We got my husbands ring through this deal and even had it engraved. It was retailed at over 300 it's tungsten we only paid 25 for the shipping and taxes. The ring came and he gets a lot of compliments on it. It's very heavy and has a lifetime warranty. Totally worth it!!
• I attended the show with my fiance. Didn't purchase a thing and got our vouchers for the weddings bands and the aprons. We ordered the wedding bands ($50 total in shipping charges),which was high in my view but the way my fiance saw it is we got matching bands for $50. We are in a long distance relationship until the wedding due to our jobs. So we like having matching rings that we can wear everyday. Cookware is really over priced, but the sales people didn't pressure us at the end and just asked did we want to purchase any. We said no and got our ring voucher and left.
• Its not a scam. My fiance and I went to the hotel we thought it was a little sketchy but when we got there the people were very nice. They didnt make us buy anything and we won a short little vacation, it was great!
• I don't think this is a scam... There are fees associate with both the rings and the trip as they tell you up front. The company they use for the trip is (per the reviews I've read) very difficult to deal with though. But my fiance and I went and decided that we DID like the cookware and got some (the man wasn't pushy at all, either) we just really liked it!) We later decided it was too expensive for us right now and overnighted them a letter asking to cancel (you have until midnight the third day to cancel). They immediately called & emailed confirming the cancel and said they had already cashed the check... but we did receive a refund check less than 2 weeks later. It's been about 2 months and we haven't heard a peep from them. Judging by the way they handled it, this is definitely not a scam. They did everything exactly as promised and other than our impulsiveness it was an overall positive experience.
• I am not  a Royal Prestige associate. I am just a lowly school teacher. I've been on the knot a while and getting married this summer, so in other words, I'm a real person. This is not a scam. You get some of the prizes whether you buy products or not. That's fair. The cookware is a bit expense, but not much more than what I've seen in some other department stores. If you buy it, and I did, you can finance them and even get your wedding guests to buy gift cards from them that you can use toward the cost. That's seems very fair to me. The prizes are real and I'm enjoying them right now. The toasting glasses  only costed us $20 and were personalized nicely. The wedding bands look great and only cost us $50. That's not free but the price is unbeatable. Not to mention they have a warranty. Instead of going to the Wyndham resort, we traded in our vouchures for an upgrade and we're going to a nicer resort in the Domincan Republic. The Odenza marketing travel agent was very helpful. We had to pay the difference for the upgrade, but the vouchure trade really helped. All I'm saying is I wasn't forced or tricked into a thing, We WERE very skeptical, but now I'm glad we didn't miss out! I'll let you know how the trip was in July! See for yourself!
• Oh and I distincly remember signing up for this at a bridal show, so my info wasn't stolen. You can also refer friends so they may NOT have stolen your number after all.
