Reception Venue in Greenville?

We are four months away from the big day, and just had a cancellation of venue. I've found a place to do the ceremony, but am looking for a cool (unique) place to hold the reception. I would definitley prefer indoors. I checked with the obvious places already and most are either booked or way out of our price range. I'd really like to find a little resteraunt, bar, or loft space to rent out. Any ideas?

Check out the Upcountry History Museum in downtown. I went to a wedding there in December and it was awesome! Plus, your guests get to tour the museum for free (Usually like $30 I believe...) It's a gorgeous place and very unique.

I've called them twice with no answer. So frustrating! I will definitely still follow up on it though. I like the quirkyness of having it at a museum. :)

That's where we're doing our wedding!!! If you still can't get through on the phone, try emailing Kathy Barefoot - she's the one who sets everything up and is super nice. Her email is kathy@upcountryhistory.org.

  • We've been to a wedding at the Courtyard by Marriott Greenville Downtown that was beautiful! It is a tent wedding outside but was great. Check their webpage, they have some pics of another event that give you a great idea: http://www.marriottcourtyardgreenville.com/.
We stayed at the Hampton Inn & Suites Greenville RiverPlace Downtown (http://www.hamptoninnandsuitesgreenville.com/) and it was great. We walked to the reception and is located right at the river walk with plenty to do before/after the wedding.
