Who's ready for this election to be over?

I am so exhausted listening to all the ads and the news about it, and I'm feeling a bit anxious as to how everything will go down tomorrow night. I did the in-person absentee voting on Friday, so essentially my part is done.

I'm pretty much jealous of everyone who is not in the media right now, because as much as I would love to stick my fingers in my ears and be like "La la la la la" ... I can't do that because of my job. (Being in a swing state makes is sooooo much worse, too.)

Anyone else have election fatigue like me?

    I'm just tired of all of it in general.  Don't get me wrong, it's great we have a democracy.  I'm tired of the political ads and the tweets and facebook posts.  There's so much rudeness and disrespect between people on both sides that it's annoying.  Everyone can support whoever they want and believe whatever they want, but you don't have to be rude.  I wish people would understand that.

    I am! Between the tv ads, Facebook posts, and phone calls, I'm sick of it all. I do wonder if Hurricane Sandy's destruction will affect things, though.

    Yes and no.  Yes, as I'm tired of having to listen to the Senate ads for the Scott Brown/Elizabeth Warren Senate race (one of those swing races).  It's on the radio, TV, Youtube ads... I even had people knocking on my door!  I think it's worse thanks to Citizens United, which now lets unlimited funding for elections (because corporations are people, after all...).

    No, as a part of me tries to remember how important the right to vote is.  Whenever I get all frustrated, I just think about someone like MLK who died for these rights.  It helps bring perspective.  After living in DC where we all were taxed without representation, it's also good to know I have a voice in matters that affect me. 

    And on a lighter note, I don't know what I would do without political humor whenever I wanted to scream this election.  The Romney parody of Gangnam Style literally had me laughing for two weeks.

    I'll be glad when it's over.  DH and I are going when the polls open tomorrow morning.  We're not a swing state, plus we have tivo, so we don't get much on the tv.  No land-line phone.  What bothers me most is everything on facebook. 

    My girlfriends and I avoid talking politics because we don't really agree.  Today we finally brought it up to complain, like this thread.  One of them gave a nice summary of the Elizabeth Warren vs. Scott Brown. 

    I haven't paid attention to people who we're electing to send to DC - I pay much more attention to really local stuff like school board because I feel like that's where my vote matters more.  Also, those candidates actually have different ideas and seem to run on them, as opposed to running on what they think people want to hear.

    I have been ready for so long for this election to be over. I sent my ballot in early, and really wish that meant that I didn't have to be exposed to all the ads and stuff anymore. Alas, it's still constant inundation. :P

    I have never been so excited for Viagra ads in my life. I am so sick of political ads and am thanking God it's over. His will has been done, and that's how it is.

    In any case, I hopefully have my hubby back now. :)

    My husband and his family were very upset over the election . Most people at church on Wed night were also upset... It was unfortunate to see that. God is ultimatly in control . He knew what he was doing when he was elected the first time... As he does the 2nd... I mean come on the country did also vote in Clinton for a 2nd term AFTER his affair .... Nothing suprises me anymore ...

    <div>I'm pretty sure Clinton was voted in a second time before the Lewinsky scandal (election in 1996, affair in 1998).  And I think a number of people actually approve of what Obama has done, even from a Christian perspective (caring for the poor, protecting the environment, minimizing the number of deaths of U.S. soldiers, etc.).  It's a shame Dems gloated in this election, because what goes around will come around (probably in 2016, my best guess is).  </div>
