I understand that there really wasn't sufficient evidence to convict her, but the prosecutors went after all the wrong charges. I am extremely upset and of course like a lot of people believe that she should have been found guilty. My heart goes out to Caylee Anthony because that babygirl deserves the justice she did not receive today. It is extremely upsetting.

I agree. Why would this woman lie so much if she had nothing to lie about. I just don't understand this at all. Poor little Caylee. May the lord be with her and this entire family.

I have been watching this case everyday. I have two thoughts. The first one being: not guilty does not equal innocent. My second thought is: Jose Baez says that he can go home today and tell his daughter that he saved a life today, but would he trust his client to babysit his daughter!

Wow, that's an awesome point!! I don't know if this woman will be able to live her life. She looked so happy when she heard the words "NOT GUILTY" but she looses either way. She lost her only daughter (lets pray she doesn't have any other kids) and I'm sure after all of those accusations she made about her family they aren't going to forgive her. She could have gotten her dad arrested! Where is this woman going to go from here?

In my opinion regardless of how anyone felt, it is a bit sad that we will never really know what happened to that beautiful baby girl. I just wish that we could know since the case became so public. Another thing I was discussing with my FI was that since she was declared not guilty, I can only imagine the book/movie deals that are most likely lining up for her and her attorney, not to mention members of the jury too since they also can sell their story. It is just a little sad to think that people can make money on the death of an innocent child. I hope someday Caylee finds justice.

i think the state did a great job proving felony murder due to child abuse...meaning, she probably died accidentally but it was at casey's hands. i am disgusted that they didn't at least convict on a lesser charge. i watched almost this entire trial.

This.  All of it.  I watched the entire trial.  I understand that first degree with premeditation would be difficult to prove, but from what I understand, in FL if a child dies due to child abuse/neglect that can dictate a murder 1 charge.

And yes, God willing she will not bring any more children into the world.  Children deserve a mother, not a monster.

The prosecutors are still looking for the one real murderer. Now that Caylee will be free from the jail, it creates a big question in the mind of many. Lying and providing false information to the police got Casey Anthony in trouble too. The trial has finally concluded while the verdict was made by the jury on July 5, 2011. She was found guilty of lying and providing false information to the police while innocent of all other charges. Many reactions have come out of this. Some say that a woman who murdered her child like that should never have been released. They are angry about the decision. Others say there wasn’t enough evidence to suggest she was guilty. They are happy about the verdict. Even though she is being released, she won’t be off the hook completely. She will still need a payday loan to pay for prison time.

</div><div>They can ONLY convict based on the charges that were actually filed against her.  She was charged with murder 1, aggrivated abuse, and misleading law enforcement...those are the ONLY charges she could have been convicted of.  To convict on a lesser charge she first would have needed to be charged with a lesser charge.  For example, it's entirely possible the jury would have found her guilty of neglect if she was charged with neglect.  But she wasn't. </div>

However, is there not a stipulation in the FL murder 1 law that says abuse or neglect of a child OR premeditated murder.  Therefore if she was guilty of neglect, she would have been guilty of murder 1.
