A classmate I've been working with this semester just told me in an email that his wife recently had a miscarriage. I don't know what to say. They have a young son who is too young to understand what has happened. Please pray for them (R and E).

Praying for R and E.

As for not knowing what to say, SIL miscarried her 3rd at 6 1/2 weeks when I was 5 weeks along. We were talking the other day, and she said she's learned that in some cases, it's better to say "too much" than nothing at all. An e-mail went out to their Sunday School class (about 20 people) and only a handful said anything to either of them. Joy said, "Saying 'I'm sorry. We're praying for you and your family,' is much better than assuming they don't care/aren't acknowledging the loss of your child's life, which is where your mind goes in those hormonal rollercoaster days and weeks."

Thank you, ladies. I expressed my condolences....I saw R in class last night. I am amazed at the strenth he and his wife have to cope with their loss.

So sorry to hear this. H's sister miscarried earlier this year. It's very tough. I will pray for R and E!
