Intimate and inexpensive ceremony & reception venue

Hello! My fiance and I are looking for an inexpensive, classy, intimate venue to host ourceremony and reception.  We are inviting 50 of our closest relatives and friends so we anticipate we will have 40 to 45 attendees.  Our budget is $5,000 (I know ladies, it's not much) for the ceremony and reception, incl. food & beverage.  I'd appreciate any recommendations you have!

Re: Intimate and inexpensive ceremony & reception venue

  • Your best best is probably to find a restaurant that has a private backroom. Maggiano's has multiple packages for private events and you can even get married there too. Just look around and see what's appealing to you and your FI. Good luck!
  • I'm getting married in September at Oak Leigh Wedding Gardens in Fair Oaks. It's small, quaint and very reasonable (I have a $5,000 budget too). Check them out at http://www.oakleighwedding.com/. They don't charge weird fees like cake cutting and corkage fees. Try ABC Catering with Oak Leigh, as they are very reasonable and tasty.

Another option as suggested in the previous post is having it at a restaurant. Check out Casa Garden Restaurant in Sacramento. The cool thing about this place is that the proceeds go to the Sacramento Children's Home. Here's a link to their website: http://www.casagardenrestaurant.org/. (They might have a minimum guest number though that's higher than your invite number).

    Good luck!

[QUOTE]where are you looking? Sacramento? Bay Area?

Sorry, I should have been more specific.  We are in the South Bay so we are looking for venues in San Jose, Santa Clara, Santa Cruz, etc . unless someone has a recommendation very close to, or in, El Dorado Hills - my parents live there so we could do the reception at their home and all we would need is a nice spot for the ceremony.  Thanks!
  • You could do a ceremony at the Lake Natoma Inn in Folsom and then your parents yard in EDH for the reception.  You might also want to look into Cameron Park Country Club for the ceremony.  Could you do the ceremony at their house too?  What about Sienna Restaurant in ED—maybe they will let you just do the ceremony or ceremony and cocktails there.

  • I second Sienna Restaurant... I've seen pics from a wedding there and it looked real nice. I'd look into it!
    Wedding Countdown Ticker
  • Maybe check out this restaurant?

I don't know how much it is though.

    Grand Island Mansion

grandislandmansion.com is gorgeous and I think they have a sunday brunch wedding that is inexpensive.

Also I think the Micke Grove Japanese Garden is pretty and inexpensive. They have an auditorium too at the same site for reasonable and you can bring your own food.

Like MHANSEN, I am also having my wedding at Oak Leigh Wedding Gardens next month. Very cute, outdoorsy feel to it, and like Mhansen mentioned, no corkage fees or cake cutting fees. It also includes a wedding cake! We too are using ABC grill catering. VEry tasty food. You get a tri-tip carving station, chicken, veggies, potatoes, rolls and fruit all for $12 per head! Can't beat that! Check it out!
