TMI anyone supposed to have their "friend" on wedding night?

I am supposed to so I am planning on skipping my period next month so it will work out that I will have my period the week before our wedding now.  My main reason for doing this is I usually get migraines during my period and I don't want to risk getting them during the week of the wedding or on the wedding night.  I have talked to my doctor about this before and he said it is totally fine to skip my period once in a while.  I have not done this for years so I figured I would rather skip it in June in case I have some spotting.  Then July I will be back on track just getting it 1 week earlier.

If all goes according to plan, I am going to have mine on my wedding day, as well.  I was going to go on the pill and try and skip it but my fiance talked me out of it.  Secondly, because the pill can start more issues, like breakouts, weight gain and moodiness...all things I dont want to deal with before my wedding.  I am praying that stress will throw off my period in the next 2 months.

I am supposed to have it (start) about 10 days before, which is perfect. I'm just hoping stress doesn't mess it up or something. I can be kind of irregular when I get stressed out.

I hope not.  For me, the week that it usually starts will be the one following the wedding but I hope that stress doesn't make it come sooner.

yeah I would not go on the pill just to skip it for your wedding.  Plus when you first start off taking it you should not mess around with skipping periods the first 3 months.  I have been on it for 11 years now.  I am going off of it as soon as we get back from the honeymoon.

I was supposed to have it on my wedding night.  But I did the pill skipping like you are Lady a couple months ago to avoid any issues.  I may skip my period in June still just so its more than a week before.

I will be getting my friend on the Wednesday of our honeymoon - two days in to our trip. It sucks, but I would NOT recommend using pills to skip your period if you have not done so before.

I tried to do this about 3 years ago, and instead of skipping my period, I spotted for about 3 weeks straight, and then my period was out of whack for seriously a few more months. If it is something you do regularly and your body is used to it, I would go for it, but otherwise, it really takes your body awhile to adjust to it. My body does tend to react really violently to changes (and hormonal changes that are created with messing up BC pills), but I know lots of my friends have had similar issues when attempting to play with the timing of their periods by messing with their birth control pill schedule.

Oh, and this is absolutely not something to do without the assistance of your physician.  I know you said you did Lady - but for any others who are reading this thread - not all types of pills work with this, so make sure you talk to your doctor!!

I was on it for about 9 years straight and it made me really moody, I tried all different ones, too...I went off of it about 2.5 years ago.  I really did not want to go back on it...the joys of being a girl :(

I was supposed to, and I skipped too. But now I realized I skipped one month AGAIN. I'll have to do it again this month so it'll be all good for the wedding.

I am supposed to have mine on our honeymoon, but I am taking Seasonal so I don't think I will be getting mine when I am supposed to since it is a new pill so this kind of irritates me a little not knowing but eh whateves.

It's a freaking miracle that I am going to have my period a week after my wedding but before I go on my honeymoon (FI and I are leaving 2 weeks after our wedding). I'm only worried about getting hormonal zits around my wedding day!  It's weird because I realized I wouldn't get my period around my wedding day when I was on the pill, but stopped taking it in February. My period still comes like clockwork on the exact day I would have gotten it if I was still on the pill.

I tried to skip my period once when I was on the pill because I was going to be camping when I expected it to come.  I had bad cramps and my period still came.  So I would try to skip your period sooner than right before your wedding to see if it actually works (unless you know it works already).

Mine is supposed to be here on our HM.  Lucky me...I guess I shouldn't do the shark feeding thing there since they can smell a drop of blood a mile away, huh?

Reading all of your stories about the pills and the timing and the tracking all sounds so complicated!  I would never be able to keep up with all of that; I barely remember my car keys in the morning, let alone anything else, hahaha

I take mine the second I wake up every morning.  I bring water with me to bed so i am ready to go in the morning.  I am very cautious when it comes to the pill.  We have had a scare before so I am religious with it.

Oh man, I have no freaking clue, I am so irregular it's not even funny. The last time I got it was at the end of the month, so if I was somehow miraculously regular, I'd have it the week before. But I seriously have no idea what to expect. I'll just deal with it when it happens I guess. Luckily my periods are relatively light.

Mine's supposed to be the week before so I should be good. I have skipped before though using my pills and had no problems, no spotting, nothing.

I was going to have it on my wedding night but when I switched birth control it changed it until the week before.

I should be getting it about two days after the wedding. My worry isn't even the bleeding. I used to get really sick the week of and last month that started again. I'm going to talk to my doctor about it and probably switch pills but I won't see her until after the wedding and it impossible to get appointments. Hopefully I won't be sick for the wedding.

I planned it way in advance so that I would have it the week before the wedding, so I'd have the bloating and emotional craziness at an absolute minimum (I'm borderline PMDD).  I skipped a month about a year and few months ago.

I plan on skipping my period over the honeymoon, too.  Then after a few more months stop taking BC altogether.

My doctor gave me the OK about a year prior to me getting engaged because I was curious, so I asked.  I had no problems when I skipped a month last year.  It was awesome.

I have mine now and planned on figuring my pills out so I would get it the week before the wedding and be finished that Thursday beforehand. But I'm mostly concerned with the HM. I need to NOT have it moreso on our Honeymoon than during the Wedding because for the love of all that is holy PLEASE do not make me have it while we're in Africa. That would be terrible.

I need to sit down with a calendar. I'm so confused.

I may just skip. It's not like we're *ahem" anyway, so hopefully I won't have issues if I just keep taking the pills and don't take the placebos.

I should be having mine a week before the wedding...I skipped mine in March so I didn't have it for a friend's wedding..so now I should be fine for the wedding.

Not sure because mine are only semi-regular. But if I do think I am going to have one at that time (they usually come toward the 3rd or 4th week of the month), I do plan on skipping it with pills. I know you're not supposed to do this but I've done it more than a few times before and never had any major side effects besides nausea. I can't imagine having it on my wedding day or HM. That would be a total downer for me especially because we normally "ahem" about 2-3 times a day and I plan on upping that for the HM lol.

I'm on the pill that only makes me have a period every three months - and I'll be on placebo in mid-June - so I'm in good shape. :o)

I'd hate to be on my period during my wedding..

I was on a birth control that I never got my period with but they upped the cost so I went back to another one I used to be on and get horrible cramps and periods so I went to the doctor a week ago and she gave me samples of the more expensive one that I never get my period with. I'm hoping that it kicks in with no periods quickly because right now I'm supposed to have it the week before the wedding and with all the crazy emotions of that week I don't want my period on top of that. If I do oh well at least it's over by Thursday normally and I won't have it on the wedding day or honeymoon.
