Military Brides

Question about a certain color

Hey everyone I am Candice and my fiancée is Justin. He is a specialist in the Army. We have been madly in love since the day we met. We are shooting for our wedding to be around March of 2012 but, we still are not completely sure. I know that wearing Class A's aren't the "proper" uniform to wear but, my fiancée and I are contemplating it as of right not. So I really don't want to hunter green and golden yellow as my wedding colors. So my solution is it use their shirt color instead of the jacket color. What color is their shirt? I was thinking it was pistachio or melon but, I am not completely sure. Does anyone know? If so please let me know so I can coordinate my colors.

I'm not sure what the colors are, as my H is in the Navy.  But if your FI does choose to wear his uniform you don't have to pick your colors based around the colors of his uniform.  Its perfectly fine if you want to do it, but military uniforms can definitely be a different color and nobody would wonder why.  So if you have your heart set on certain colors or have ideas on colors you want, you don't have to change them just because he's wearing his uniform.

Is there any reason why he's wearing Class A's and not the ASU?

Unfortunately my fiancée doesn't have a set of ASU. I am not to sure why he doesn't have them.

Does he definitely want to wear his uniform?  There are plenty of military grooms who choose to wear a standard tux instead.  Its really makes no difference either way.  Some choose not to wear it if they aren't making it a career, or others like my H choose not to because they so seldomly get to dress up not in uniform.  Just wanted to make sure you didn't think it was mandatory.

Some people don't have them because they were issues Class A's and the ASU is expensive.  I would start saving for them because the Army is planing on phasing Class A's out soon and they won't be a legal uniform.

Both of us understand that the uniform is not mandatory. We are going back and forth about him being in uniform and him wearing a tux. Our two ideas are him being in uniform and the colors being light green and golden yellow. If he isn't in uniform the colors will be Midnight Blue and Silver. We are in the very first stages of planning

That uniform is supposed to be phased out very soon.  I wouldn't plan on using it at all.  I also wouldn't plan for my colors to match his uniform.  Uniforms are considered to be neutral.  Just pick colors that you like.  If you want to do blue and silver, do it.  It will look good with any uniform.

The new ASU's are a dark blue so I would say with or without the uniform go for silver and blue. The ASU's are going to be required soon. I know my FI has to have his by graduation because Class A's aren't allowed by that point. Good luck and I hope this helps!

Pick any green that you like - it doesn't have to match perfectly.

If you like pistachio, then pick that!

Most weddings look better not all matchy matchy but rather with a bunch of similar colors used together.

You are a very dedicated military bride if you are willing to pick your wedding colors to match your sweeties uniform...I can't do gold and navy. I mean I could...but I refuse ;) I don't see any reason why it would need to match. As long as it doesn't look horrible with your colors. You have the rest of your life to coordinate with the military...
