Thoughts on boutonnieres?

I'm getting kind of frustrated with the men's boutonnieres. I originally bought artificial calla lilies (same as our bouquets) to use. However, the more I think about it, the more I don't want FI wearing a flower. It's just not him. Problem is, my dad hates the idea of using anything other than a flower as a boutonniere. Do ALL of the men have to wear them? Can I just have FI wear one? Will it be odd if the GM and fathers don't wear them as well?

I think it would like nice for your FI just to have one! We're not doing those at all, instead we are doing red pocket squares! I am so excited about how the guys are going to look, I think a little more than I should be! No tuxes, no jackets, just black button up long sleeve shirt, black pants, black shoes, then a little pop of color wi th the red pocket square!

You could always do bout(s) that AREN'T flowers....that's what I will probably be doing and there some super simple tutorials on Pinterest made with feathers, burlap, buttons, keys, paper pinwheels.
