Henna party

Hi SA knotties! I used to pop by this board before I got married but I've been so busy lately I haven't had much time to. Hope you're all doing well with your planning.

My brother's GF has been invited to a SA friend's wedding and also the henna party. Other than getting the henna part, is the party like a shower? I.e. should she bring a gift? Or should she just show up? The bride is Hindu.

(I am not SA; my husband is, but neither of us have ever been to a henna party.)
