Vendor reviews for Same Sex Wedding on Cape Cod

We just got married on September 22, 2012 at the Wequassett Resort and had the "A Team" of vendors that we worked with to give us the wedding of our dreams.  I hope our reviews will help any of you still deciding on vendors in the Cape Cod area...I would highly recommend each of our vendors to anyone...they were terrific!

Venue:  Wequassett Resort was incredible.  The food was excellent, the service was top notch, the hotel rooms are clean and luxurious, and the views are amazing.  We worked with Kalson Pang as our wedding coordinator and he managed to take all of our requests and changes and create the wedding that we dreamed of.  Our guests are still talking about how wonderful everything was and are calling it, "the best wedding ever."

Photographers:  Bello Photography, Mashpee, MA.  From the minute that we first met Christine and Andy, we knew that they were the right photographers for our wedding.  Despite the fact that they had not done a same sex wedding before, they made us feel so comfortable around them.  They are fun, loving, and are the best photographers on the Cape.  They put everyone at ease, got some incredible pictures and have given us pictures that we will enjoy for the rest of our lives of a wonderful weekend with our family and friends.

DJ:  DJ Danny Walsh was our DJ and he was terrific.  His selection of music was great--kept the group up and dancing all night.  Danny was great in preparing us in advance of the wedding related to song selection and timeline of events.  Danny was terrific to work with and would highly recommend him!

Videographer:  Digital Imaging of Cape Cod (Bob Lassiter and Ann Marie Gandolfi).  It is two weeks since our wedding and we already have our wedding trailer and the full length video is coming sometime this week. Ann Marie did a great job capturing some special moments and important people in our lives and at no time did we feel that we were being followed by a camera.

Flowers:  Fancy Flowers by Meredith.  Meredith met with us almost 18 months in advance of our wedding and in a very short time, was able to pinpoint the perfect flowers for us to build our vision around.  When we got to the wedding day, the bouquets were stunning, the centerpieces were beautiful and the flowers for the ceremony were the perfect additions to our theme.  Meredith was responsive and got back to us immediately with any changes or issues.  Reasonably priced...good value for the money.

Officiant:  Rev Faith Lavender.  Rev Faith was perfect.  She met with us twice before the wedding and was able to really get a good sense of us as a couple.  She wrote a ceremony that was meaningful to us and to our friends and family.  Faith met with us the day before the ceremony to prepare us for what would happen and give us advice as to helpful tips for the ceremony.  As a same sex couple, being "married" was so important to us and Faith managed to capture that sense and level of importance.  She is kind, warm and loving--everything that we wanted in an officiant.

Ceremony Musicians:  Intermezzo Chamber Players.  We had the Intermezzo Players for the pre-ceremony and ceremony music.  They were perfect.  I had a few calls with Carol Premack in advance of the wedding and she created a music selection that our guests loved.

Good luck with your weddings and wedding planning!

  • Re: Music for ceremony
We got married at a friends private residence on large outdoor porch overlooking bay  in Provincetown.  Local Cape guitarist Brian Kelly played the ceremony outdoors for us....he did a marvelous job, and even learned two of our favorite songs for us.  He was a pleasure to work with.

    Good luck with your plans
