Food Trucks at the Reception?

Hello knotties!

I'm trying to convince the future Mr. Temperance that it would be really, really fun to have a food truck at our reception, but I'm absolutely STUMPED about how to FIND one that we can book, or rates, so I can point it out to him! Any suggestions on bookable food trucks? I tried googling and found a bunch of links for California ... so not helpful.

Most of our extended family is from northeastern PA and is like .... eeeew ... food trucks .... but I think it would be fun and it's so "us". We're paying for everything ourselves, so it's not like they'd have to foot the bill (or like we have to listen, lol). Any suggestions are helpful!

  • There's a restauarant that we love for breakfast in Pottstown and they have a food truck.  I don't know how far they drive or where your wedding is, but it might be worth contacting them.  http://shortyssunflowercafe.com/ Good luck!

I know Jose Garces (iron chef and owner of Amada and Chifa and such) has a food truck that servers latin food that you can rent for private parties. I have not tried it, but I love his restaurants in Philly, so maybe it's worth a try if you like tacos and such.

  • Have you tried visiting some food trucks and asking them specifically for their rates?  OR lots of trucks are on twitter, so you could reach out to them there.  A couple of my favorites are Say Cheese Philly, Local 215 and Jimmie's Cupcakes. They're all on twitter and respond to requests like that all the time! I think it's a great idea to bring food trucks into your big day.  If you have luck, please post an update!! Thanks!
  • Honest tom's used to have a food truck. now i think they just have a restaurant but maybe they would do something like this....amazing tacos

Cucina Zapata is amazing! So is Chewey's. I'd consider just visiting each of the trucks (or at least their websites/Twitter pages/Facebook pages to ask about whether they do private events. I know a lot of them do
