Sigh, I think I've listened to every single demo for every single band in the DC area and I can't find anything I like. I found one I like but they are going to cost over 10K :-(. We're having a black tie wedding so that means band, but they are all SO CHEESY.
I want a band who won't look at me crosseyed when I ask them to play music not on the beaten path -- Vampire Weekend, MGMT, the Decemberists, Jukebox the Ghost, etc. I'm fine with them playing the standards, but I want my tastes reflected in the wedding music too!!
Anyone have any ideas? And don't just suggest a DJ or an iPod... as I said, we gotta get a band...
