My ring has been chosen!!

Please forgive my narcissistic post briefly.  I am excited for this development, it will be paid for soon, and I can finally feel confident that engagement is near.  I've picked out my ring, and yesterday my boyfriend said that he feels like I'm his wife already--that may not sound very romantic to you, but for my boyfriend that's about as good as it gets.

YAY!

Now then.  Back to our regularly scheduled programming, which consists of working on our diets (I ate way too much today already) and thinking good, safe thoughts for our friends on the eastern seaboard.

    You're right, of course.  The BF says by Christmas, so I still have 2 months to wait.

    Yay!  That is very exciting for you.  I'm in the same boat as you.  BF and I met with our jeweler Saturday to cover the basics.  Now the two are working together to design my ring.  I promise to help you keep your patience pants on if you can do the same for me!

    That's so awesome!  I'll definitely try to help you keep your patience pants on.  Er . . . mine aren't quite fitting right now, see above :-/.  At any rate a custom ring that your boyfriend is putting himself will be so special!  I'm a little bit jealous of one of my girlfriends', and she loves that hers was custom designed, but my BF is just not very creative.

    I would say BF is really not so creative either, but we got really lucky and found a great jeweler who came recommended to us from quite a few of his friends.  She took lots of notes on what both of us liked and disliked, and they were going to use that as a template to come up with something that BF picks outs on his own, but melds the important things that each of us wanted into the ring.  So basically she can make up for his lack of creativity in that department.   Neither of us were crazy about any of the store's settings but she's worked with his friends on custom work and she mentioned she could do the same for us. 

    I don't think mine will be coming until the beginning of next year at the earliest.  Originally I thought the wait was going to kill me, but a calm sort of hit me after shopping.  I know its coming and he wants to marry me, but now I just really want to enjoy the extra happy glow we have.

    Eh, buggle's is nbd. She sprung her "engagement" on most of us by posting a "oh btw, I ran off to the mountains with my SO and went to a mountainside with a JOP and we're married" thread. She's just an OMH now. ; ETA: congrats! It's a pretty ring. :

    Hehe, thanks Audre.

    That's a really sweet story, Buggle.  I've thought about doing something like that myself.  You and your hubs, without the stress and hubbub of planning in a cool scenic place.  Colorado would be great for that, so I might end up doing it too--don't have much in the way of money.
