November Siggy Challenge

Happy November! Can you believe the holiday season is almost here? Crazy!

Anyways, our siggy challenge this month is centerpieces. Feel free to post an inspiration picture or what they will actually look like! Are you doing flowers? Something more unique? Let's see them!

What is a siggy challenge? It's not really a "challenge" in the sense that someone wins, it's just a term really. Each month we choose a theme and put that photo in our signatures (the thing that shows at the end of your posts, like the tickers). You don't have to participate if you don't want to, but it's fun!

Easiest way to upload a siggy photo:
-Upload your photo to tinypic.com.

-Resize it (I did the "website/email" one but play with it to make sure it's not huge!).

-Copy the "html for websites" code (ex. "<a href ="http://tinypic.com?ref=16a4nkx" target="_blank" /><img src="http: //i39.tinypic.com/16a4nkx.jpg " border="0" alt="Image and video hosting by TinyPic" /></a />" minus the quotes on the outside and the random spaces I threw in. BTW this is one of those sample pics on my computer so if you want some penguins.. lol).

-Paste it into the "edit my message board signature" on The Knot (if you need to know how to get here it's My Knot at the top, then My Bio, then edit my avatar & sig).

-Done!

Re: November Siggy Challenge

  • My picture is a "rough draft" of our centerpieces. We will be mixing those blue and clear marble things together to give a little more color. We wanted something simple and different. I saw those picks at Michael's and LOVED them! I think we bought all they had in the Twin Cities, my area and even a store in Maryland thanks to my grandma!

We are renting the vases and clear marbles from my mom's coworker. We bought blue marbles, the picks, LED lights and the petals. I just love them, and I'm happy we figured something out after playing around with ideas for months, haha.

  • Mine are all simple. All I want are my gerber daisies! Each of the flower centerpieces will be on top of old boardgames, which is how we plan on "numbering" the tables.

  • We are having very eclectic centerpieces. For the six 10-seat tables in the hall we are having Disney royal couple themed centerpieces with different items representing the Disney movie the couple is from and ornaments with the names of the couple that also act as table names. For the ten 6-seat tables on the patio we are having giant teacup planters filled with flowers and marked with a colored Styrofoam Mickey and a playing card table name/number. They are all DIY, so I don't have any pictures of what they look like, only rough drafts with some of the items. The one on the left is for the Aladdin and Jasmine table and the one on the right is for Belle and the Beast.

  • I Love those Disney ones! So cute!  Everyone's is looking so good. I can't believe we are almost under 4 months. I really like the look of the floral centerpieces. You can never go wrong with flowers! And Jenni- I love the lights :)

I was going to take a new picture now that I have all the supplies for a complete mock up, but i have been slacking. The water levels are not right in the picture. These will be placed on the fuchsia table cloths. I also got some more natural white with blue gem stones for the vases. It helped them sparkle a lot more. && Those are mini diamonds scattered on the mirror.
I had someone give me a bunch of the large vases and some mirrors, and i found the others and the dollar store and wal-mart. Candles i bought on-line, and the diamonds on ebay for super cheap. Overall less than $10 a table.
Our venue has really big chandeliers on a dimmerswitch. So the candle, lights. and uplights will set a nice glow
