Bridesmaid dresses (Fabric help!)

Hello All,

My original plan: all girls (4 bridesmaids and 1 moh) wear same color, fabric and length, but pick their own style for the top (I have all shapes/sizes). We are having a formal wedding so I would like some dress up, but not over kill.

I am now thinking the same color and length but let them choose the fabric.

What do you think? Is it ok for one bridesmaid to wear chiffon while another wears satin? Would that look bad? Any help is much appreciated!

    My bridesmaid each picked their own dress from Alfred Angelo (same color, same length).  My sister (MOH) wore chiffon and my two bridesmaids wore satin.  Here is the blog post from our photographer with some pictures of all us girls toward the end. I think they looked great since they were all wearing something that they were comfortable in.

    Thank you for your help! I have been struggling with this and want it to look formal, but also want my girls to be comfortable.
