June 2013 Weddings

Ideas

So I think for centerpieces I'm doing something I saw on pinterest with mason jars. And also for favors I was going to get mm's in my wedding colors and put them in lil boxes...however that really adds up so I do know at the ceremony I'm giving out bubbles. So I don't really know what I should do favor wise or if they are a must have thing. Then even though I'm having a photographer I was thinking about putting disposable cameras at the tables for guests to also take there own pictures for us.

Re: Ideas

  • From what I have seen from lurking on the favors board favors are no longer a must have. Also I believe your bubbles could double as a favor?

  • Thats what I thought but wasn't really sure
  • Bubbles would be a favor.

  • You could use the bubbles as the favor. We are opting out on favors. I don't see the reason for the expense on something that will most likely go to waste.

  • I think if you want to do a favor it should be something edible. I don't think bubbles are a favor because you want them to use them at your exit. You don't have to do mm's in your wedding colors. You can just do regular mm's in your wedding colors boxes. That would save money on buying special color bags of candy. So you could do that or forgo the favors idea all together. The only ones going to be excited for bubbles are children.

  • I'm using mason jars for centerpieces too! Thankfully my grandma used to can a lot so I have a ton. As for the bubbles and favors, I plan to have bubbles at the wedding, but doing something along the lines of hugs and kisses from the mrs. and mrs. at each place setting in a small tulle circle and ribbon coordinating with the colors. Something simple and edible.
  • Using mason jars is so much easier than going out and buying glass containers bc those get pretty pricey depending on how many you need. And i was thinking about maybe doing like a candy favor but would it be weird if its not chocolate.?
  • Honestly, if you're already giving out bubbles I'd leave it at that for the favors. Ditto another pp, from lurking on other boards, the favors seem like the most forgettable (ie not that important) detail for guests, so I wouldn't worry about it too much. I've seen plenty of edible favors that weren't chocolate: those almond things, mints, candies, etc. so if you go with an edible favor I think a non chocolate one would be fine. Obviously alerting any guests w allergies if they can't have the favor.

  • MrsK- Thats exactly what I am doing. I already have my photobooth booked but have been debating on the frames, I just hope there arent a ton of them left over from people not taking them.

I also dont think you can really use bubbles as your favor since you are expecting guests to use them.

I went to a wedding this past weekend and their escort cards were printed on chocolate bars. I thought it was so cute and I like things that serve more than one purpose.
