Anyone doing multi-colored dresses for their bridal party?

Pardon the intrusion, but I'm helping my baby sis look for her bridesmaid dresses and we're having a difficult time because she is wanting to do a pastel color pallette for her bridesmaid dresses.  Is anyone else doing this?  If so, show me your dresses.

TIA

I am the baby sis :)  I would greatly appreciate any feedback!  I am really struggling with my search for bridesmaid dresses...not only with colors, but the dress itself!  I keep finding parts of dresses I like, but I can't find the "all-in-one" perfect dress.  I am getting married in August, so I want to find the bridesmaid dresses so that I coordinate all the other colors/decorations around them.   If you have any suggestions for cocktail/tea length dresses.i'm open to different styles but a couple I like are ones that have a bubble hem or a-line cut with an empire waist.

    Thanks for your help!  :)

Check out www.billlevkoff.com . There are a lot of options and the dresses are priced very reasonably for the quality. My colors are eggplant and black and the girls dresses will be a variation of the two. I am having two different BM dresses. Check out my bio.

So it sounds like you girls are looking to have each BM in the same dress but in a different color, am I right?

Here are some photos of that:

Do you know what kind of budget each BM is working with? If not, talk to each of them individually and find out what she's willing to spend. Nailing down a specific price point will probably help you narrow down designers.

Designers like David's Bridal and Alfred Angelo offer a lot of colors (and they're also very affordable, on average), so you might want to look there to start. And if each girl will be in a different color, then it's probably best to keep the dress design simple and basic, so that things don't look too cluttered.

There's also no such thing as one magic dress that will flatter everyone. Some bridal parties get lucky and each BM looks nice in the same dress. But many others do not ... so please be open to letting some of them choose different necklines and straps/no straps. PLENTY of people go this route, and things still look great. Keeping the same designer/fabric/skirt length will help things look "uniform," too. And be sure that each BM tries it on before you make a decision ... also, be conscious of their skin tones and hair colors before you assign each girl a color (let her try the designated color on first, if possible).

Something like this might be good to start: http://alfredangelo.com/Collections/ProductDisplay.aspx?productID=669ba0f1-61d4-47ec-aa46-e3e42d695293&categoryID=772f03c9-de43-4942-bfa0-da77e21ebd65&pg=0&colorId1=

If you really run into a road block while doing different colors, another option could be to have them each wear a black dress, but give each of them her own color for an accessory ... sash, pashmina, flowers, maybe even shoes if they agree to that: http://www.allureimagery.com/proof/20050507BeccaAndy/baa_162114_std.jpg

    edited February 2010

I did Alfred Angelo pastels for my wedding last August.  We used pistachio, tea rose, butter, robin's egg, peach fizz, and lavendar.  Each girl managed to pick a color she liked so it all worked.

I should add that Alfred Angelo has a ton of tea length/cocktail length dresses to choose from so I would definitely check them out!  My BM didn't want the shorter dresses even though it was August so they went with floor length chiffon.
