Caterer Ideas

Hello,
I was wondering if any of you have opinions (good or bad) on a caterer in Cincinnati. We are looking for non traditional wedding foods. We have talked about doing a grill out. Has anyone booked or had an experience with this? Just trying to get ideas other than the traditional buffet foods at weddings.
Thanks!

Personally, I wouldn't take on the task of cooking. It's just another dress you don't need. We are going with Vonderhaars and couldn't be happier. They have lots of options that are not as tradtional as what we are doing. We have also been talking to the owner and his assistant since the beginning, which we love.

http://www.justqin.com/ Try out Just Q'in - seems like they could do grill out style very easily.

Delicious food.  Not sure if he does grilling, but I can say I've never had better catering.

We used Fresh Table for our rehearsal dinner... and they are by far the best caterer in the city. They work out of Findlay Market and have a "locally grown" requirement for all of their ingredients. For our dinner, we gave them a price per plate budget and they proposed a custom menu based on our likes/dislikes. We had filet mignon, grilled salmon, sausagestuffed pork loin, grilled asparagus, parmesean mashed potatoes, and a garden salad with homemade salad dressings. We shopped around for caterers and Fresh Table was definitely the most creative and flexible. Good luck!

I was looking at caterers recently and noticed that Hilvers catering has a grill out/BBQ type package.

Have you thought about a food truck? Cafe de Wheels has really great burgers and they work with someone for weddings who makes locally grown sides. They're really flexible and will create a custom menu for you too. We talked to them about doing our wedding, but it just didn't work with our venue.

We ended up picking Eat Well in Newport and they have been fantastic. They really listened to us. We wanted a fall comfort food menu with local produce and they put together a menu that was exactly what we wanted.

Lother's in Hebron, KY.  Johnny is THE BEST - they are small-town, reasonably priced and have some of the best BBQ options I've ever tasted in my life.
