    Well...he's my husband now, but...
His name is Eric, he's a "man's man,"  he likes to hunt, fish, watch football, etc.  I think I fell in love with him because I've always fallen for the "tough guys" but he's a tough guy that is a total teddy bear to me!  He's pretty laid back and simple, but I wouldn't choose anyone else!  Our wedding was great, even though he thought it was sort of silly to have a theme.  I think he changed his mind when he saw me looking like an old Hollywood glam movie star!  We're relaxing on our honeymoon right now.  Here he is on the beach!

So sweet to read that, kelley :). My fiance's name is Ariel. He's 32 and from the Jersey shore originally, where I recently moved to be with him after a few years together. I am from northern NJ, by NYC, and we were raised very differently which causes some funniness and friction at times but we are besties and he's the cutest, funnies, quirkiest, cool person ever. He collects vinyl and loves horror films. He is Jewish. I am half Italian and half Colombian. Both of our parents weren't really born or raised here (except for my dad who's from old Italian Brooklyn), so there's a lot of funny accents going around and our wedding will be a colombian/italian/israeli/romanian debacle of a shindig. He's an elementary school teacher, which is so sweet I think. He is also very non-judgmental and kind... And he's 6'2 and has a beard which I love! My 5'5.5 self feels protected. We met through friends. A bad picture of us is below.

Other than the one in my wallet, I don't have a pic of Matt that's just him.  So here's a nice one of the two of us:

Matt's my husband (since October 30) and I fell in love with him for his heart.  He is so sweet and such a deep-down nice guy.  He's really good at calming me down when I get in a snit over something, and has a fantastic sense of humour.  He loves puns, where I'm more of a dirty double entendre kind of girl, but we make it work ;)  When I met him, I could tell he was from a good family and was raised right.  He's not religious, but has strong morals.  He's from Irish, English and a smidge of German decent, has lovely light grown hair and hazel eyes.  Matt loves computers, animals, travelling (his favourite place is Thailand), his family, cats, camping, and guns (lol).  He is extremely sensitive about being a gun-nut, though, and is always worried that people will judge him for his hobby.  Handguns bother me, but we have reached certain agreements about them.

Hmmm what else?  He graduated with a BA (or BSc?) in Business Management, and is going back to school in a couple months for Police Foundations.  Ultimately, he wants to be a police officer.  Right now he works for Apple with computers.

Nukke--- that's a gorgeous picture of you two!

My FI is Douglas.  He's 4 1/2 years younger than me.  Yup, I'm a cougar.  :)  We met at a dog park.  I've got a toy poodle and he has a yorkie.  I love how much he loves his dog... and now, mine.  Although, I wonder if he kisses them more than me.  LOL!

I truly believe that he is the smartest person I know.  He's an actuary... so he's a math person, but not the boring kind.  He's cheeky, sarcastic, and witty.  He's got a quick sense of humor.  He's also incredibly talented--- plays the drums in a band and can also draw and paint.

He is an atheist.  He is English and Welsh.  We joke that he grew up in a life of priviledge.  We couldn't be more opposite in many ways, having grown up in a strict, Catholic, old-school Asian upbringing.  But we work and have a connection that I've never experienced with anyone else in my life.  He makes me laugh and makes me happier than ever.  I couldn't be more in love.  :)

Thanks for this thread... and letting me AW my FI.

My FI has truly become, over time, my best friend.  He's an accountant and works for the Federal government.  He is a native of Pittsburgh and left home at 18 to join the Air Force.  He has lived in Europe and multiple places in the U.S.  One of the most endearing qualities he has is his closeness to his family.  He is the only boy, with three sisters, so he has very humorous perspectives on women!  He has a great sense of humor and we share laughs often.  He calls me beautiful and makes me feel very special and extremely well cared for.

I knew, three months after our first date that I loved him and, shortly thereafter, that he was "the one."  He has been steadfast, reliable and more caring than anyone I have ever known.  Since both of us have been married before, its been wonderful to take our time getting to know each other.  We're getting married on the 5th anniversary of our first date/the day we met.  We both feel lucky to have met.

My fiancee John is my best friend.  We have known each other since we were 5 years old.  He was my first kiss in kindergarten, we were friends all through school and actually got arrested together when we were 16.  We never dated until college, where we were in the same major and had  quite a few classes together.  We ended up sitting 2 seats apart at graduation!
John is so smart, adorable, understanding, funny and charming.  He is a huge comic book/video games geek, but he is the most well-spoken, interesting person.  He couldnt be unlikeable if he tried.  I am so blessed to have him be mine:)

Hey all! This is so fun hearing about everyone's loves! This is Spencer, my best best best friend in the whole world!  I was always a skeptic of love in general so love at first sight was just absolutely ridiculous to me! But,,, when I met Spencer that is exactly what happened! The first time we met he was performing Improv at the Off Broadway Theatre in Salt Lake City.  I was just immediately drawn to him and his personlaity. He was sooooo funny! While he was on stage he happened to look down into the audience and thats when it happened!  Once we were looking at eachother it was like something just clicked.  Like something inside me recognized him.  At that moment I knew I would be with this man whatever it took.  He actually started stuttering on stage it was freakin cute.  We had the most wonderful crazy whiirlwhing romance and 4 years later we are still best friends and more in love with eachother than ever.  He is so opposite me in every way its crazy.  He is the calm and cool to my fiery and crazy lol.  He is super geeky and a total cinefile which is fun! But he also is alwyas open to trying whatever new thing I'm into! Cannot wait to get married :)

Hi all! Everyone's stories are so cute! Smile

My FI's name is Neal. We were high school sweethearts and are getting married two days before our 8 year anniversary. We were raised very differently, and therefore see things very differently, but we work together. He's definitely the calm introvereted to my... I'll steal the word firey and extroverted personality. We both have our responsible and irresponsible areas, and they thus far have been opposite, so we tend to balance each other well. We both have very sarcastic senses of humor. We don't have a whole lot in common, but we are pretty laid back and compromise well. :) He is a software developer so he's pretty geeky, but very itellegent. We have a lot of fun, sometimes slightly heated fun, but fun nonetheless discussing social and global topics. He's perfect for me! Here's a pic of us from about a year ago...

My fiance's name is Curtiss. Like many of you, we come from really different backgrounds, but we seem to temper each other amazingly. I come from a very conservative, Christian home where everything was like Leave it to Beaver and strict. His parents are Unitarain hippie socialists who kind of left him to grow on his own. Curt went back to school recently to get a business degree and works at a country club in the meantime. I love how he is so sensitive and kind. He is the type of person who will do anything for those he loves. He enjoys anime, travel, video games, and talking about politics and global issues. He is also really into plants and grows all kinds of orchids. I can't imagine my life without him and am so blessed that he is mine.

Bahaha!  Long story short, it was after the 4th of July fireworks and 7 of us, 3 girls and 4 guys, went to a friends house where she had a lake that all the residents of the allotment shared.  It was late, and apparently some neighbors called the police on a noise complaint.  When the police flipped on their flashlights, we were blinded and ran.  They never said they were police!  We all thought we were being chased by crazy people in the dark!!  John and I ran to his car, the 3 other guys ran to another car and my girlfriends ran to the house.  The twist of the story is when John and I jumped into his car, the policeman pulled his gun out and pointed it at us.  We were 16, in shorts and tank tops, obviously not armed and he was going to shoot us!!!  After that came out at our hearing we all got off.  But I like knowing that John is my partner in crime, even years before we got together:)

    MY fiance's name is Michael.

We met at ushering at a theatre (one of the reasons we are getting married in a theatre). He "courted" me for a while even though I was dating someone else.  After that guy decided he wanted to date other people, I starting dating Michael and realized he was sooo much better. I was currently his boss when we got together (scandelous!).

There are so many reasons I feel in love with him, it would be hard to put it into words. He makes me realize the bests parts of myself, ya know? As cheesy as that sounds. He is without a doubt my best friend. On any given day in any given situation, I would rather just hang out with him and chat. We share similar senses of humor and interests so we can just talk and talk. We really adore being in each other's company.

He was an Art Major in college and is curently a manager of a frame shop/gallery. He works on short films with his buddies and writes for a horror movie website. Our basement is full of movie posters and action figures. There's even an entire wall dedicated to Star Wars. So yes, he's a geek, but you wouldn't really know that about him unless you got on the subject. I sure think he's pretty cool.  He's polically minded, well read, a music lover and a big goof wad. He's perfect to me!

We've been together seven years now and we can't wait to get married.

My FI is Shawn and he is truly a wonderful man.  We actually went to school together, he was a year behind me, and while we had (and still have) quite a few mutual friends that went to school with us, we never were really friends in school.

Anyway, I went thru a very nasty divorce and even tried dating, but it went horrible.  Then a friend of mine was on fb and said "Hey, remember Shawn?  I found him on FB and we are going out for drinks, you should come!"  So I went.  By the end of the night, we were a couple and within 6 weeks, I asked him to move in.

Shawn is wonderful, he respects me and always lets me know that he loves me, even if we are fighting.  He is a self-described "pretty boy" as he doesn't even own a pair of jeans!  Shawn works about 50 hours a week in sales and still finds time to be a wonderful and devoted father and step-father.

He has a twisted and dry sense of humor that always keeps me in stiches.  He's honest (sometimes painfully), always says what he means and means what he says, his a man who still knows the value of a handshake and his word is his bond.  He has traditional old fashioned values.

I thank God for him everyday because I believe he saved my life.  I had given up on love and lost all faith and trust in men completely.  He changed all that and showed me again how to love not only someone else, but more importantly, myself.
