Caribbean Honeymoon Help!

I really need help finding the right resort. We are open to many islands except Mexico and Jamaica because we've been there in the past.

We are looking for romantic, nice beaches, great food and a variety if possible. We don't want to leave the resort/hotel often except for restuarants within walking distance if not all inclusive and snorkeling or other low-key water activities.

Am I the only one that has found honeymoon planning stressful! If I am, then that's how much I need your help!

Thanks!

Re: Caribbean Honeymoon Help!

  • Have you thought about contacting a travel agent to help with the planning? My FI and I were going to plan it ourselves, but we weren't sure where to begin. If you're looking for all inclusive with great beaches, I've heard Aruba is a wonderful place. There's snorkeling, horseback riding, shopping, dining, and jet skiing. Our travel agent recommends we should look into there because the resorts with the all inclusives are wonderful.

  • Aruba is amazing!! Beautiful beaches, amazing restaurants, mall and shops all within walking distance. We stayed at the Radisson and seriously we loved it, I can't wait to go back. We went in October and spent 3000 for 2 people for 10 days!! It was amazing :)

  • Check out the Domenican Republic - Ive heard lots of great things
  • I wouldn't recommend the snorkeling in Aruba, it wasn't the greatest.

How about St. Thomas?  It's such a beautiful island.  Meagen's Bay is the most beautiful beach I have ever been to.  There is also some great snorkeling around.  Plus you can head over to St. Johns or even the B.V.I.'s if you want.

Curacao is also very nice, but the beaches have some coral embedded in them, which means you should wear shoes.   It has some GORGEOUS snorkeling, a beautiful old city with lots of history, some great food, and a fun atmosphere.

St. Maartin is also very beautiful and might have all you want, plus ferries to check out other nearby islands like St. Barths for the day.

San Juan is another pretty island.  Lots to offer (beaches, jungle, casino, great food, a beautiful old city, history, casinos, etc.).  I also think that in certain places it has some beautiful snorkeling.
