Need help with photographers

Hi Ladies!

I usually post on the Boston board, but my best friend is getting married in San Diego this August and I am helping her with some of her planning.

Her and her fiance have decided that an expensive photographer is not in their budget, so I am looking for suggestions for good photographers that are very reasonably priced.

Any suggestions you ladies have would be awesome!

We used Myda Clark Photography. For $1000 we have an 8 hour day of wedding coverage, engagement session, 8x10 framed photos, a bound photo book of our favorite prints. Her website is www.mydaclarkphotography.com. We love her! Hope this helps!

Not knowing your budget I'll also suggest Melissa McClure.

Ohana is also good, but I'm not sure of their price points.

I would recommend Mai Tai Photography. Their coverage for weddings (2 photographers, high resolution photos on CD, etc) starts at $1200 and their listing on Yelp says a free engagement session is included if you book one of their packages. Melissa McClure was our wedding photographer and we loved our photos (which we got 1 month after the wedding). She now has an associate, Mandi (usually her second shooter) who takes on weddings that Melissa may not be able to do so she might work for your friend's budget. If you don't like my stuff, I still recommend using a young photographer who is trying to build their wedding photography business. Oftentimes, these people are just as talented as well-known photographers, they just haven't built a name for themselves yet. The perk is, you can get a great deal for a huge amount of work.
