I am lutheran my finance is bapstist- would love a joint service

I attend a lutheran elca church my soon to be husband attends  an independant baptist church.  I have always wanted my old pastor to marry me.  I was wondering if I would be able to have a joint service with my finance's preacher and my old pastor in my finance's church.  I have attended his church with him many times over the years. My mom is telling me it would be be allowed,.  My old pastor is a female.

any advise would be greatly appreciated.

  • The only way to know is to ask the two pastors.

  • Have you called your former pastor to seek her guidance?  She will, I'm sure, have some good advice for you.  Good luck!
  • Independent Baptist church make up their own rules generally, but tradtional Baptist do not believe in women preachers.  It may cause a problem because of that, I would check with the church.
