Anyone else doing a cocktail/ hors d'ouvres reception??

just wondering if anyone else was going this route, and if so, what is your menu of hors d'ouvres???  i'm still not sure what we're having.  i know we are doing these:
shrimp cocktail
fruit/cheese display
veggie and dip display
antipato tray
mini crab cakes and remoulade
sweet and sour meatballs
bruschetta
mini quiches
and i was considering doing these:
stuffed mushrooms
teriyaki beef skewer
asian peanut chicken
philo wrapped asparagus and bacon

any other ideas or suggestions??

I'd try to make sure the quiches are vegetarian, or maybe do mini cheese pizzas (like the sizes of mini quiches)?  Looks yummy to me, though!

yeah...the quiches are gonna be veggie, and also the bruschetta is veggitarian.  that along with the fruit and cheese display and veggie and dip display should be plenty for veggitarians...especially if i end up doing the stuffed shrooms as well.

Absolutely!  We're having a late ceremony with an even later reception.  So we're doing heavy hors d'ouevres, drinks and dessert.  Your menu sounds amazing, yum!

    Ours:
    Pecan rubbed pork loin sandwiches
Turkey club sandwiches on Rosemary Bread
Ham, Salami and provolone on herbed foaccia bread
    Chicken Ranch Wraps
Beef tenderloin sandwiches with caramelized onions
Imported Cheese Spread with grapes, pita chips and bistro crackers
Berry and Pineapple tray with fresh cream
    Toasted ravioli's
    Crab Cakes
    Rio Grande Egg Rolls

Contemplating: Spring Rolls, Pinwheels and/or Wonton Cups

I would definitely do the stuffed mushrooms!

A popular choice right now is soup shooters. Especially tomato soup with triangles of grilled cheese.

Yes, we are! We're very excited about doing something a bit different. So far, the only definite decision has been to have cheese/fruit and shrimp cocktail displays. We haven't finalized the butler passed hors d'ouvres (we haven't even had our tasting yet), but if I had to pick right now, it would probably be:

    baby lamb chops
    grilled asparagus wrapped in prosciutto
    scallop ceviche in cucumber cup
    crab cakes with remoulade sauce
    tomato, basil and mozzarella canapé

Wedding cake will be dessert, and of course there will be a full bar.

my fiance and i are actually having a late cermoney too, with our reception being at his mothers house (only having about 40 guests) so we are def in love with the cocktail reception. one of the ideas we are actually throwing around is instead of having a fruit tray/platter ordering a couple arrangements from edible arrangements, that way we have something yummy to munch on but we can also incorporate them into our table decor!

i love the idea of the mini sandwiches..i think i'm going to have to incorporate that ;)
the edible arrangements are also a great idea!  they are so cool looking.

We are doing a heavy pupus menu [thats what we call apps in hawaii]
Our food choices are pretty out there but they are all of FI and my favorite foods

    Passed:
    BLT canapes
    tenderloin w/ horseradish canapes
goatcheese w/ capers and red oinon canapes
    French fries in cones

    Stations:
    Oysters on the 1/2 shell
    salty bbq ribs [no sauce]
    mini corn on the cob
    grilled vegi skewers
    boneless fried chicken
    coconut shrimp
    coconut tofu

    various dipping sauces

    Cake and mini fruit tarts

I love the idea that people will be able to move around and eat and see everybody rather than be stuck at a table all evening
