Good day ladies! Sunday, July 29, 2012 was my bridal shower. It was hosted by my 3 Matrons of Honor and my mother. While, there were also many that were behind the scenes that helped decorate, cook, etc. I must say that I am still floating on Cloud 9! The overwhelming support of all the women in attendance and the love they showed me was truly abundant. I am truly blessed to have a circle of unconditionally loving women, friends and acquaintances. During the shower, (although this may sound crazy), I was thinking of yall. I was wishing my knottie sisters could have been there to to enjoy this day with me.
A good time was had by all...at least from what I heard. As you know, I was really bummed about my recent health concerns with new onset of the paralysis on the right side of my face, but I tell you my God is an awesome God! Although, I couldn't cheese it from ear to ear and strike all those poses like I would have LOL!, I had a lot of fun and all that worry was thrown out the window.
Here is a recap of what they had planned: I made my entrance. Everyone welcomed me. Of course, I had to thank and hug each and every person there...I'm a very thankful person. We sat and talked because FMIL was late. We respectfully waited for her (SMH...she thinks this is her time to shine LOL). Then, 2 speeches were made about me and FI. One of my MOH said a prayer. I sat up in the "hot seat" in fthe front. I had to show off my cute shoes...ya know?! We then ate...food was so good adn the cutest was the "Chalya Love Potion" punch they made. They also had a really cute sweets/candy bar.
Games/Activities: Each lady "showered" me with a Bible verse and read it out loud about marriage, virtuous woman, etc, etc. I cried of course. Then, they played the game how well does everyone know the groom. I got most answers right, but there were some I thought were trick questions...this was funny. For each wrong answer, I had to chew on some nasty stuff. LOL! Some other games were what's in your purse and can't say groom name.
The cutest activity was when I was given a dozen white roses from FI with notes wrapped around each rose. He wrote all the reasons why he loves me and why he wants to marry me. I read everyone out loud and cried each note. I wasn't expecting that one. Too sweet.
That's pretty much it. The decor was beautiful...I wanted peacock colors... and they definitely delivered.
Here are some pics. Please excuse the lack of any smiles...yall know what's up!
These are me and my beautiful mother...She is almost 59 yall!!!!
