Wedding Invitation Wording Assistance

Good afternoon,
I am working on an invitation.  The bride has asked that I mention the words "promptly" in the invitation because the guest may arrive late.  How would you suggest I word this invitation?

Re: Wedding Invitation Wording Assistance

  • I would post this on Etiquette :)

  • You don't mention the word promptly.  You mention an hour and a date and leave it at that.  If someone is late well too bad for them, they'll miss some of the wedding festivities.

  • Yup, if people can't be on time for a wedding. . . well, then that's on them. Putting 'Promptly' makes it sound like a buisness meeting or something and also looks kind of rude IMO.
