Gay weddings instead of same-sex wedddings?

I notice that in the changeover, this board went from being the Same-Sex Weddings board to being the Gay Weddings board.  I thought for a moment it had disappeared entirely, because it wasn't in the place in the alphabet I expected it to be.

Not a complaint, just wondering why the change?

    I don't know if there was a philosophical reason for the change, but I seem to remember it had something to do with being consistant with gayweddingsbytheknot.com which is partnered with gay.com.
