Alterations - Where and how much

I just purchased my wedding dress last Friday and its 2 whole sizes too large. I bought if ott the rack and saved like 50%!

They dress shop gave me the name of a woman who is also a dress maker that does alterations. She charges per alteration, not per hour which I've heard is the best way to go. Anyone else got quotes on alterations? Mine will need a hem, 2 seems taken in, I want a pull up kit, or whatever they call it for my train. Anyone have a ball park on what I can expect to pay for all of that?

I got my alterations done at Amazing Alterations in Anoka, mine came out to be $241 for similar alterations. I had a permanent bustle put in, bodice taken in, cap sleeves removed and the cost of a new slip since the one I originally got is now too big thanks to my weight loss :-)

Cost really depends on the style of your dress and if there's a lot of beading, ruching etc. that a seamstress would have to be extra careful with.
