  • Raeneera, if you haven't done so already, make adhesive address labels with your name, home addy, phone number, and email addy on it.  Then as you go around the show, instead of having to write your contact info down, you can just peel off a label and stick it on the vendor's sheet.  My sister told me to do this, and it was a huge time saver!!!!!!

I have my ceremony site and venue booked, and so I have my date- yay!  I just got a quote from a trolley company, and on 4/16 I have my 1st dress shopping appointment *squee*!

  • holy flim flam! you are so smart, i am totally gonna make up those lables tonight. thanks a million

  • Bridal shows are so much fun, especially when you have a date set! I went to a show immediately after getting engaged, and I had no idea what was going on! It was sensory overload!  I'm not far into my planning, but I have booked a reception location, photographer, and makeup artist.  I also made my save-the-dates and am halfway through with other DIY projects (faux mercury glass votives, ribbon wands, and favor bags).  I'm sort of going out-of-order, but it's working so far!

  • I feel so behind! I haven't put deposits on anything yet. I've looked at a ceremony venue, but my FI and I are still debating about reception venues and everything. I have no idea what my colors are or anything like that yet.

<div>The best thing to get hammered out is a budget.  Once you have that, all of the other decisions will flow!  I had to move pretty quickly because October dates in my neck of the woods go fast.  In fact, we booked about a month ago and at that time, only 2 dates in October were left.</div>

Soooooooo. . . who are your vendors and where is your ceremony/reception, spill spill spill!

I am looking for photographers/photo booth and DJ's now.  I have my ceremony site (St. Bernard's Church) and my reception site (Mansions on 5th Hotel) and my transportation (Molley's Trolleys) booked :-)

One of my DIY projects may also be mercury glass votive, lol.  Great minds think alike ;-)  And this: <a href="http://pinterest.com/pin/137219119868466622/" rel="nofollow">http://pinterest.com/pin/137219119868466622/</a>

<div>LMAO I love the picture. I literally cackled at my desk. :-p  My reception venue is Bell's Banquets in Mount Pleasant, PA. It is an old barn with fantastic lofts and beautiful lighting.  We haven't decided on a church, but we're looking at two 200-year-old Lutheran churches in the same city.  Our photographer is Michael Kilgore (Contemporary Photography <a rel="nofollow" href="http://michaeldkilgore.com/">http://michaeldkilgore.com/</a>).  Our photographer is really talented and much more reasonable than the three other vendors we checked out! The makeup artist I chose is Julie from Pittsburgh Makeup (<a rel="nofollow" href="http://www.pittsburghmakeup.com).">www.pittsburghmakeup.com).</a>

My FI wanted Molly's Trolleys but we're not getting married in Allegheny County. :( I was so sad because it looks like it would be such a fun way to get around on your wedding day!  </div><div>

    Hi,
You have tons of time. I'm not sure what venues in your area are like as far as booking up fast, but that's the thing you want to get out of the way first.

Seriously, we all have so much time to do everything. I like it that way because it takes the stress out of wedding planning.

Happy planning (or lack there of)!

I am a 10.4.14'er and we have our church, hall, and music booked.  I ordered my dress, my mom ordered her dress, and grandma got her dress.  Way ahead of schedule it seems.  But like a previous poster said, when we went to book our date, there were only 2 dates available in October 2014 and 2 dates in September 2014.  NUTS!! Good luck everyone :)
  • Does anyone else feel like 18 months will go soooo slowwwww??
  • Oh my goodness I feel like it is going to take forever! I occasionally yell out to my FI how many days we have left. This morning when logging onto The Knot I yelled "530 DAYS!!"  (We actually picked 10/5/14 so we'll be right after you 10/4ers!) We're both ready to just have our wedding!
  • I agree - we got engaged late January '13 and wanted a fall wedding.  We didn't know if Fall 2013 was too close to plan something, thinking we would have to compromise with certain decisions because of lack of availability etc.  Everyone says it will fly by ... but i keep thinking I have to go through 2 summers before we get married!! Seems like forever.
