Confessions, Unpop ops, Vents

I confess that I may or may not be addicted to coffee.

I confess that I have a count down on my phone that tells me my vacation is in 1 month and 5 days.

I confess that I have no desire to work and I hope this secretary I hired changes that (I am way over worked).

Unpop op- I think our president is an idiot and needs to get his head out of his A$$. I don't think women should get free birth control and I think the government gives out way too many hand outs to people that don't deserve it, but the ones that do, they cant get it.

  • Vent: I can't believe that my state is having a 'Traditional Marriage Day' while repeatedly striking down everything equal rights. Every day is a traditional marriage day -- promoters of inequality shouldn't be rewarded with a holiday. • Confession:  I never did an intro post on this board! I just went back to check and I thought I was going to be a July 2013, so I introduced myself there, but not here!

  • I confess that although my choir/quartet involvement stresses me out and rules my life, I feel a pull to continue even though FI asked me to take a break for the fall session...

I confess I take children's chewable vitamins mostly because they taste good...

Vent: FI just sent me a text that says "I took out a toll booth arm this morning, funny story, I'll tell you tonight when I get home."   He's not going to be home until after 6-7PM, I can't wait that long to find out what happened and what we have to do now...

Though update, as I'm writing this he responds back- It wasn't my fault, the operator told me the arm has been malfunctioning, no damage to my car and I'm not responsible for anything.  -  Alright now my heart rate can come back down!
  • I confess that I cant stand my FMIL and that i absolutely HATE the dress she purchased for the wedding, she is going to look extremely silly.

My FMIL keeps trying to change the guest list (all STDs went out in March). Also, she keeps telling me how she really needs to go look for a dress, has she? No.

Umm.. my FMIL argued with me over the fact that all my FI's second cousins should be there... so I added them all, then after is ent out the save the dates shes was looking over the guest list (save the dates went out in october, she was looking at the gust list maybe a month ago) and she turned to me and said, why are all these second cousins on here, they shouldnt be invited... then proceded to tell me she never wanted them there, its to many people..... yea... I didnt know what to say.

Ill try and track down a picture of the dress. I asked her if she could get a dress in a burgundy or a chocolate... so that she could go with the wedding party. My mom was going to wear the saem color so that everything looked very coordinated..... she got a "merlot" which this particular merlot.... is PURPLE. I hate purple... theres no purple in the wedding AT ALL. I was actually with her when she tried it on and expressed how i didnt really want her wearing purple ( in a very nice way) and she bought it with out even discussing it with me. UH! yea... venting..... sorry.

This is the dress.... but in purple.... her words were "I want to look like (insert name here)'s mom at her wedding.... which was the mother of the bride... it seems to me her goal is to upstage my mother, and be the "host" of the wedding.... which is insane because they wont even help out with much of the cost. Sorry, she just drives me nuts.

  • I fear the day I go with FMIL dress shopping.  FI and I are paying for both of our mother's dresses.  FMIL can't afford a dress on her own, so to take stress out of it for everyone, we're just buying both mother's dresses so she doesn't feel odd about it.

FMIL is against anything tight, revealing, etc. Strapless is definately out of the question, even if it comes with a jacket, so options are a bit more limited.  I have no idea if she's going to want short or long and when I mentioned what colors the dress could be to FI, he said that he doesn't think she'll want to wear any of them.  My wedding colors are burgundy (BM Dresses) and deep yellow (incorporated into flowers). My mom is wearing a dark teal dress, so anything in those rich jewel tones would look great, but knowing her she'll want lavender or some sort of pastel...  Oi vey.  I keep reminding myself that she won't be in every picture, so even if it doesn't look right in the whole context of the wedding, I shouldn't overwhelmingly stress out about it.

Thankfully FI's aunt is coming with us (I absolutely adore her) and I think she can help persuade her sister into making a more appropriate selection. Fingers crossed.

You are in a totally different situation... you are buying the dress. Try and explain to her pastel wont look right with your colors.... im doing the same thing though too, telling my self my FMIL wont be in every picture....

  • What is with the hideous MOG dresses?!?!  My FMIL bought a beautiful dress and recently exchanged it for some old, ugly, frumpy dress.  It's horrible!!!  I just don't get it.

Confession: I just saw the promo for the Real Housewives of NJ and can't wait for June 2!  It's my guilty pleasure show and I was kinda bummed when I thought it wasn't coming back for another season.

  • I confess I would much rather get married now so I wouldn't have to deal with my mom's wedding madness anymore.

I confess I have no idea what my FMIL will be wearing to our wedding, and I'm not sure I really care. I know my mom will care if she chooses a grey dress, though. Because my mom is a little BSC like that. Whatever. No one will think she's part of the wedding party if she DOES end up wearing a grey dress.

I confess I am extremely grouchy before I have coffee.

I confess I ate a krispy kreme donut this morning.

Unpop op: I really hope that all I get this weekend at the shower are gift cards.

I confess that I really don't care to have a shower, even though FI's sisters and mom have offered to throw one.  I get anxiety about having to ask people to attend more than one thing, with the expectation that gifts are given as well.  I want to have a bach party and a wedding.  That's it.  My family doesn't live in town, so I fear that my friends, who are going to the bach party, aren't going to appreciate having to go to this shower too.  Sigh.

  • Lplions, are your girls wearing gray dresses?

I confess neither my MIL or my mom have bought their dresses, and my mom isn't worried at all, she's planning to buy something in the summer.  I'm not even worried the least bit.

I confess I've never had a Krispy Kreme doughnut.

I confess I'm etra cranky cause I was up til midnight working and woke up at 6am to get to work extra early.  Weekend needs to come ASAP.
  • libby: yup. I don't have any idea if they have purchased them, though. I said "grey, knee-ish length dress that makes you happy". That's it.
  • UnPop ops- The Moderator needs to get her head out of her A$$. No one that does not deserve a handout gets it. I work in Social Services and YOU obviously do not know anything about the government programs in this country.
  • I confess/vent that I HATE the DMV this morning.  I do NOT understand why I need to submit paperwork for a "Parent Taught Driver's Education Course" if my son has not sat and taken the learner's permit exam.  How can he practice driving LEGALLY without a permit?!

I confess I'm angry that the FI STILL has his ex-wife on the home owner's insurance, his bank account and some of the bills that -I- am paying, thus SHE is earning the "good karma" towards her messed up credit while my messed up credit is STILL messed up.  ESPECIALLY when, 1-he KNOWS my goal this year is to clean my credit up so we can buy a new-to-us house, 2-I asked him when I moved in in AUGUST to please get her off EVERYTHING and 3-because, DUDE, you've been divorced for about 5 years now.  STOP BEING LAZY!!

I confess I'm angry pants because the lady I ordered a sample invite from both hasn't responded to my questions, but hasn't yet sent my sample.  I ordered it on the 16th.  So this means I've got to try and find invites ALL over again.  This has been the most difficult task for me thus far; finding invites I like.

I am SUPER excited that next Saturday I am taking a riding lesson from a lady I've been FB friends with for about 2 years.  I'm nervous because this will be my first time loading one of my horses in my trailer AND hauling the trailer myself.  I've hauled it empty, but I've never hauled livestock before.  I'm doubly scared because it's MY horse!!  *bites nails*  I'm also nervous about using the FI's truck because it might be too much strain on it.  We just need a new truck, period.

I'm annoyed with a work project that my Judge gave me; basic outline, but I don't have enough information to format this document according to Bar standards.  So, flock it, I'll format it to MY standards, and she can correct it.

I'm nervous because my son's about to start a fairly aggressive form of treatment for his acne, and I am HOPING it works for him, because I know he's embarassed by how his face looks, and I think kids pick on him about it.  Why are HS kids so mean?  :(

I really wish I wasn't so angry pants today.  :(  I think I'll have a margarita with lunch.  Everything's better with a margarita, right?

Oh and might I add, that if you get convicted of Disability fraud, you are not disqualified from applying for disability again.  The phrase "convicted of disability fraud" implies that there is a group of people out there defrauding the government and taking money they should not have taken (thereby stealing money from those who actually need it).

So its okay for someone who DOESN'T have a disability to get benefits from the government, but my stepfather who can barely walk, can barely hold a fork, etc can barely get benefits?

The same person that doesn't have a disability scams the tax payers. He "works" the stock market, illegally. He has a new Iphone every time one comes out. He has a new 60 inche tv every six months. How the hell is that fair.

Would you like to know his disability? He's fat, lazy, and he brags about it. They go to take out every single night. They don't use their food stamps, they collect them. They have saved more in food stamps than I get in one pay check. AND I work 40+ hours a week at one job at 5 at another. I earned my money, they don't.

Also, its an unpop op. MEANING UNPOPULAR OPINION. Watch what you say.

ETA: Those food stamps they save up, they use those to host cookouts at their house in the summer. I refuse to go to those, because I know about it, or I bring my own meat/food to eat.

Vent: I really wish I could just snap on one of the attorneys here. He's been here a tad over a year. He's been an attorney for 3 years. However, he still cannot comprehend our billing system. It is not hard. Also, the rules of our firm, he doesn't understand those and does whatever the hell he wants.

It has seriously been one of those days. I spent 3.5 hours looking for his mess up to find it was an intentional act, not a mistake.
