I never posted a ton on this board but I always loved vendor reviews.
My wedding day went pretty smooth, no major issues or complaints. I really had no issues with any vendors. It was calm and relaxing until about 2 hours before then you could just tell the energy picked up and that's finally when I got a little nervous.
Venue: Amber Springs (Montgomery) - A
Linda was great, everyone raved about how beautiful everything was.
Cakes: Chocolate Passion (Conroe) - A
The cakes tasted awesome and looked awesome! The grooms cake was a guitar and it looked so real! I gave her little direction as I like vendors to not be too restrained. The cakes came out better than I had hoped for.
Photo: Melonhead (Conroe) - A
Melanie has been so great to work with, I loved her work as soon as we got engaged. We will definitely be using her for future photo needs. I was going back and forth about a first look and I'm so glad we decided to do one. We got some amazing shots! It also helped me be less nervous about walking down the aisle. I loved that we had a special moment alone together before all the craziness.
DJ: DJ Jim (Cypress but he travels)- A
Dj Jim was great! A less expensive option but still great service.
Officiant: Rick Chandler (Houston but he travels)- A
Rick was so awesome! I loved that he put some humor into our ceremony as we love to laugh! He made our ceremony perfect!
Makeup/Hair: Venus Tan (Humble, but they travel) - A
I found them through one of my bridesmaids. Michelle was awesome! I really loved that they came out to our venue and just got us ready and we got to relax most of the day. That really helped me be calm for most of the day.
Liquor: H&S Liquor (Conroe) - A
Dana was great, even when I emailed a million times to ask different questions! I was so glad he was able to get us a bottle of Dom Perignon, that was something special I have always wanted to do with my husband the night of our wedding at the hotel!
Margarita Machines (Conroe) - A
Carla was great to work with she told me exactly what I needed and left me with no questions. She came the day of my wedding and started the machines early so they would be ready for the wedding. We got to enjoy a margarita before we went down the aisle!
Flowers: Etsy Seller Paula Jeans Garden - A
We did all dried french lavender for all the flowers at the wedding. It was a great alternative to fresh. Everything smelled amazing and it was less expensive than a florist. I was able to order the flowers in advance of the wedding and store them until the day of. My house smells so good because I kept my bouquet in a crystal vsae we received as a gift on our table.
Centerpieces: Save on crafts (online) - A
We ordered wheat centerpieces for the table. They came on time where exactly what we wanted. High impact with little cost.
Food: In-Laws - A of course!
My new in-laws catered the entire wedding. I do recommend this as an alternative but only if the person knows what they are doing. My MIL has catered weddings before so she was aware of what it took to pull off. I loved that everyone got to taste her amazing cooking.
Bartender: Chef Raol - A
I almost forgot our bartender! We had an issue where our previous bartender kind of dropped off the planet and is no longer doing business. Chef Raol picked up all the other companies contracts and has done all those weddings. I paid the original company and did not have to pay Chef Raol anything. I'm not sure if he was paid by the other company to take the last of their clients or not but either way he was a lifesaver! He made sure my guests were well taken care of and had plenty to drink. I was so busy I only had two drinks all night but he was quick and efficient.
Guest Book: Etsy Seller Elegance Letters - A
I wanted a unique wedding guest book. I searched pinterest and etsy until I found this seller. It was our new initials carved out of wood in a round shape. (She has other shapes we just liked that one) We are now going to do a light stain on the wood and hang in our house! Very cool idea thats not just a book.
Veil: Etsy Seller Foreverveils - A
I ordered a lot from Etsy. The veil came just as pictured. I wanted a cathedral length veil without the huge store prices. The quality of the material was the same as in all the stores. I added a metal comb as the one it came with was plastic.
I think that is everyone! I was very happy with how everything turned out. I was so surprised by how quickly it went. I did take a minute at the alter to stop and look around and just take in the moment but other than that it went by too fast!
