I just got an e-mail from my boss that has made my week! I guess the program is going to have to cancel a lot of the sections of public speaking that the TAs teach but would like one TA to teach a different class and I'm her pick! Usually communication TAs don't get to teach anything other than public speaking - and in my program we just teach a lab class and a professor teaches the lecture. Teaching this additional class would mean doing it all on my own which would be an amazing experience! They are also thinking of creating a lead TA position and I'm her pick for that as well! Both of these would be awesome to have on my resume for when I graduate next spring! Nothing is set in stone but the fact that I'm the one my boss would come to me first about these opportunities is awesome! I'm honestly a little surprised she came to me about this considering that there are two TAs who have been around longer than me.
