face sculpting in photos?

I'm checking a lot of the boards to see if anyone has heard of this? It's called face sculpting in photography.

Re: face sculpting in photos?

  • I can't say that I have.
  • In makeup artistry, you can sculpt the face with highlighter and contour makeup, which is pretty much how they make models look so awesome for magazines, etc., but I've never heard about it for photography... and my FI is a photographer and I'm a model. :-P

Where did you hear about it? Not to be snarky at all, but have you tried Googling it? It's just that I've never heard of such a thing.
  • I have heard of this. In general, when you are filmed or photographed you appear a little bigger than you actually are. They say the camera adds 10 pounds to your figure. Face sculpting as I understand it removes that extra the camera adds. Haven't seen any photographers around that do this though. I know more than the average person about photoshop I would think it would be difficult and time consuming.
  • I'm so glad I found you here.  I posted on the Detroit board thinking that's where I saw your post.

My photographer does face sculpting. Here are a couple links about what they do. The results are fantastic.
