Online Officiants in Philadelphia

Hi ladies!  My fiance and I are looking to get married in Philadelphia and want his uncle to officiate the wedding. I have seen conflicting things online about whether or not our marriage would be considered legal in PA if done by an online ordained minister.  Has anyone already checked this out and can give me some advice?  Thanks!!

Re: Online Officiants in Philadelphia

  • Nope, online ordinations aren't recognized anywhere in PA.

BUT you can get a self-uniting license, which means you don't need an officiant. FI's uncle can "MC" the ceremony, at the end you and your FI will declare yourselves husband and wife.

We got married with a self-uniting license and had a few different guests lead parts of the ceremony.
