Outdoor ceremony & sound?

Did you have to rent a PA system/mics?  We have just realized that between my reception DJ, musician for the ceremony & the officiant, we still don't have sound for the actual ceremony.  The musician has his system, but logistically, we will still need something to amplify the actual ceremony (vows, scriptures, etc). 

If you did NOT rent anything, and you just used louder voices, how did that go?  :)

    Definitely get something for sound. Nothing worse than sitting outside for a wedding and not being able to hear anything. We struck a deal with the company that's providing DJ services for the reception to provide sound for our ceremony also. It was cheaper since we're getting more than one service.
