Budget Friendly Couples Shower

My mother wants to host our couples shower. We thought about having it around 3-4 in the evening. (after lunch; before dinner) Would it be cheap of us to have just little finger foods (chips, dip, veggie tray, maybe a cake?) Any tips or suggestion is appreciated!

    I think that would be fine, but I would have it start at 2 so that way it can be done and people can be home in time for dinner.

    I think it's fine, like PP said start it at 2 and I would suggest she have a definite end time on the invitation.

    Like, 2:00-4:30.

    Otherwise, be prepared to order in some pizzas!
