    ::waves:: Hiya, new kid!

So, can I be nosy and ask what clues you're picking up on that make you convinced he's going to propose? Maybe some of us can help with an outside perspective.

It's very exciting to be at this stage! It's sometimes good to calm down a bit, though. Men always move a little slower than we think on this sort of thing. Lots of girls on this board had BFs who'd bought the ring, but waited a loooooong time (anywhere from a few months to over a year) before actually proposing. Best thing you can do for yourself and your BF, IMO, is to convince yourself he's *not* proposing soon, and just relax. He'll feel less pressure, and you won't drive yourself nuts.

Now then. How do you like your potatoes? Do you like Harry Potter? Mac 'n' cheese? Any pets (we will be requiring pictures!).

Hi & Welcome :) Try not to go too BSC about the proposal.  Just be calm and let it happen.

Have you lurked on this board for a while?

    Are you preplanning?

THIS.  BF and I started looking at rings over 8 months ago and I still don't have my sparkly.  So, tell yourself he's NOT going to propose or else you'll ruin every fun moment you guys have together until he does.

Also, (just FYI) we appreciate proper punctuation/capitalization/fully constructed sentences around here.

Glad to have you.  Stick around and we'll try to keep you sane.

Welcome, and what everyone else said before me. My BF and I looked at rings in November, but he literally asked me to get my finger sized YESTERDAY. So, while we have discussed timelines, it's obvious his timeline and mine are different, so I'd suggest taking a deep breath and enjoying each day you have with your BF before he becomes your FI.

Where are you from? Where do you live now? Do you like where you live?

Thanks for the tips, ill try to work on my punctuation :)

I do want to calm down and not think/dwell on it really.
I'm not discussing it with my friends except for one and with my mom.

i am not crazy, so no i am not preplanning yet.
I think we all have idea's of what we like etc but not booking or really looking until i have a ring on my finger.

Ok here are my reasons for thinking it is happening soon:
    1) we went to look at rings about 2 months ago so he could get an idea of what i like (this was all his idea i am not that demanding)
    2) my parents just met his parents which is required/accepted as tradition in my religon.
    3) my parents were in from out of town this past weekend and i saw him wispering with my parents and then went somewhere with my dad for an hour and a half
    4) last thursday he was one the phone with his good friend who is a diamond dealer for 25 min.....while we had my brother over so something was up
    5) yesterday he made up a story asking me for my ring size again because his 'dad wanted to know b/c he was buying rings for his mom and sisters'
    6) my parents are coming back into town in a month and are then leaving the country for about 6 weeks so i think he is doing it before they leave.

man it feels so good to let this all out of my system, thank you!

no pets, i love mashed potatos and sweet potato fries, mac 'n cheese is good but i gotta try to stay away from carbs!

PP&MM - It's always exciting when you start to see signs that your SO is thinking about marriage! I would suggest trying to get it out of your head though. You'll drive yourself crazy. (Trust me, I've been there!) Be happy where you're at and enjoy spending time with him - whether a proposal is in the works or not.

This is a great place to let it all out. Next start reading some of the other posts to get your mind out of the "wedding cloud". People post on all kinds of topics and everyone here is really nice once you get to know them!!

Welcome!!! and by they way...i'm totally craving sweet potato fries now...mmm...

I'm not going to lie, I would completely think BF was proposing if all of the above mentioned things happened. But, as PPs said, sometimes it takes months before you really get the sparkly.

What day in Feb did you start dating? Where are you from? What are your favorite TV  shows?

PP&MM - You sounded way excited so I got a little worried about the preplanning ;)

Sounds to me like he's got something up his sleeve.  Now just enjoy this time because once you're engaged, things get crazy with planning stress.

Thank you all for confirming that i dont sound crazy, based on the hints, that it could be happening soon!
i am just going to enjoy this roller coaster of emotions ride!

I am from Canada, i live in Toronto.
T.V shows i'm a sucker for American Idol, Biggest Loser. I've also been watching, Modern Family, Shameless (it's amazine if you havent seen it watch it!) Californiacation.

Regarding where i work, yes the designer would/should be someoen you would know if you flipped through bridal magazines....its not Vera Wang or Monique lhuillier....but i think its best if i dont say who.

i love all these questions, keep them coming!

BF and I pulled out the sales ads from where we started looking at rings the first time.

It was in July, FYI.  I expected the proposal in October.

    Stay grounded.

I can completely understand why it would be difficult not to get a little bridal-crazy around wedding stuff all day! I bet it's a fun and exciting career though!

Any pets? What sort of activities are you and your SO into? Do you travel? If so, where have you been? Where was your favorite?

I saw Phish at Bonnaroo in 2009 when Bruce Springsteen played a set with them.
You know how they put up those temporary scaffolding things on stage for stagehands to walk on?  We got to sit on the second tier of that right on stage and watch.

    They were awesome.

I'm done with it.  I went in 08 and 09 and I talk about it like it was awesome, but there's no way I'm sitting in a tent again for 5 hot ass days with 100,000 people in a field.  I'm glad to say I did it, but I won't be doing it again.

Did he just go to 09?

Hi. I don't blame you for being excited. Just don't drive yourself crazy. My BF keeps hinting, has already asked my parents forever ago, and everything. No ring yet because some things came up and he had to save some more. Knowing my BF it'll be either our next anniversary or right around the time he graduates in a few months. Anywho, I'm excited because there is a very high likelihood of a cruise honeymoon as a gift in my future....
