Covering tattoos.....Help!!!

Hi girls- Am getting married in May of 2014 and have fallen in love with a strapless dress....the issue is that my shoulders and arms have many tattoos! Although I'm not ashamed of them and normally don't ever attempt to cover them, I'd like to find something that will cover them at least for the ceremony and some photos. Am hoping someone will have some good ideas for me...thanks in advance!!

Are you talking about a wrap or bolero? Neither would completely cover tattoos, but it would provide some coverage. Of course, makeup and other coverage kits won't work either and would look funny.

Would you consider any of these? If you call ahead to your local David's Bridal, they'd likely get one in the store for you to try on, if they don't have one already available.

I agree w/pp, try to find a nice shawl or jacket to go with your dress so you can be covered when you want to but then later on you rock those tattoos

Talk to your makeup artist, or go to a Sephora or similar makeup specialty store and ask a rep for some help. There are some great products out there that can cover a tattoo..if done correctly.

I've heard that Dermablend is good and I think there's a Kat Von D concealer of some sort that has good coverage. You'll have to make sure you set it with powder

I have some tattoos that I'll cover up every once and awhile for nice occasions (usually other people's weddings) simply because they can be fairly....distracting. I use Hard Candy's Glamoflauge, you can get it at Wal-Mart and I find it to be MILES better than Kat Von Ds brand of concealer. I have a thick pinky width black solid line down my chin (traditional cultural tattoo) and at this last wedding I went to, no one had any idea I even had it. If you finish it with a light powder, it sets really nicely. I don't know how large your tattoos are, but a little goes a long way, and you do have to do it in layers (let it dry, next layer, let it dry, next layer, but you'll have to do this with any tattoo concealer that isn't airbrushing as far as I know) so it might not be feasible. But here's a picture of me with my chin covered so you get an idea of how well it conceals.

I think the idea of a wrap or bolero would be a good idea, too. I have two sparrows on my collarbones and I'm getting married in September, and I've been tossing around the idea too. On the other hand, as much as it might make the photos look more formal, my tattoos are part of me and something my fiancee loves about me.
