First Dance Songs

In honor of us finally agreeing on our first dance song, I want to know what everyone else used or is using. Other than the lyrics alone, is there any special meeting behind what you chose ? Link us to a video.

We're going to use The Beatles, I Will.

First of all, we both love love love the Beatles and think the White Album is the best album ever put together. When we first dated in 1997-98 FI used to sing it to me all the time. And now that it's taken 16 years, including 9 years where we lost touch, the lyrics just fit us.("Will I wait a lonely life time? If you want me to, I Will.") Plus it's less than 2 minutes long and, since neither of us can dance that well, it mean less time with everyone staring at us.

We didn't have a first dance, other than the hula dance we were pulled up to perform during a Polynesian show we had. If we had done a first dance, it would have been to Just Breath by Pearl Jam. I guess it's kind of "our song" unofficially. It came out while we were dating and we both really loved it

We're doing Whatever It Is by Zac Brown Band. About a week after we met fiancé posted s.g.w.i.i on Facebook about me, referring to the line in that song "She's got whatever it is." That's been our song ever since.

Smile by Uncle Kracker about a year into our relationship FI said this song made him think of me so it became our wedding song.
We also consisered Unless You Mean It by Chris Mann but we are using that during the ceremony instead.

At Last by Etta James. I've always loved that song and it fits us (we're in our late 30's). We also considered I Love You Always Forever by Donna Lewis and a few others. When we were listening to them, as soon as Etta James started singing, I burst into tears and had to turn it off because I coudln't stop crying (I may have had an excess of stress and hormones raging through my body at the time). FI looked at me and said, "At Last it is, then".

I freaking LOVE that song!!!

Ours is Shameless - Garth Brooks. He wanted the original Billy Joel version but I talked him out of it. It's not too sappy and is very "us".
