Can I get some WW fashion help?

I bought this dress yesterday:

I have black flats and a black clutch. I also have black jewelry (bracelet and earrings, I feel like a necklace would be weird with the cowl neck). But that feels so boring. Should I throw some color in there somewhere? What color?

I thought about dark red. Shoes? Jewelry? What do I do here?

No necklace. I think color shoes could be fun, but definitely not necessary. Some silver jewelry would look nice.

please, no red.

don't do a necklace with a cowl neck.

i think the way she has it styled is just fine. if you must do a color, you can do something subtle in a jewel tone, like a royal blue or green earring.

if you want to add texture, do a nude fishnet.

a pearl necklace? that's a no. no necklace with cowls.

but if it's earrings or a bracelet, that's a safe choice.

I think a necklace is a no-no with this dress. Too much up top with that high of a v-neck. I'd just do earrings and/or bracelet. I'm tired of the "classic dress with pop color" look, so i wouldn't do it. If you feel you must, do it on a bracelet, not the earrings.

If you go with some color, I echo the blue or green jewel tone thought. Pearls would be okay, but no yellow gold, I think it would be verging into too tone on tone with the tan stripes.

Ditto everyone. No necklace - the cowl is the neck feature.

If you really like red, an oxblood shoe would be nice, but nothing brighter. I might go for gold earrings, just because I don't have black, but I think a monochrome (or dichrome, I guess) look is almost always polished and understatedly chic.

(Where'd you get the dress? I still have nothing to wear for my author signing in November.)

@baconsmom - dressbarn. I had never shopped there, but I saw a different dress online and went to see if they had it. They didn't (it was online only), but I thought they had a nice selection of dresses that weren't too old lady.

This is the online-only dress I originally wanted to try on - http://www.dressbarn.com/detail/plus-size-pintucked-blouson-dress/101601330/150. It's just as well. The bottom of the blouse part would have hit me at a weird place because of my height, I'm betting.

Oh, I love Dressbarn. Their fit models are shorter than Lane Bryant's, but they're not as expensive as Igigi. I usually hit them up to troll the clearance racks a couple times a month.

I'm wearing it to a wedding next weekend and then will wear it for the company tax party in April. Between then and now, I'd wear it to a fancy dinner if DH and I do a date night.
