1 Year!

Tomorrow will be Oct 4th - one year from our wedding date!

Are you doing anything fun to celebrate being one year away?  We will be attending a good friend's wedding rehearsal out of state.

We're checking out our venue to see exactly how beautiful it will be with all of these gorgeous yellow, orange and red leaves everywhere.

It actually made me nervous when I looked at my calendar today. Yikes!

Im so excited! Tomorrow (10/5) will be 1 year. I am so excited. FI and I are going to NYC to see a play and dinner to celebrate the next year of wedding wonderfulness. (Or wedding stress) Either way, I am so stoked. I never thought the 1 year mark would come so quick. Time to get down to real planning!.

    Happy -1 Year Anniversary Ladies!

One week until my "preversary" as I've been calling it!  I figured I'd be freaking out by this point, but I'm just reallyreally excited.  We got engaged at a vineyard, so we bought a few bottles of one of the wines we tasted.  I'm thinking about breaking out one of those to celebrate, but we have e-pics the next day so I'm not sure I want to risk being puffy in the morning!

Yay more October 4th brides!!  I've been so distracted all day thinking about what I am going to be doing exactly one year from right now!  Sadly my FI is working a 16 hours shift today so no celebrating today but hopefully this weekend!

I can't believe we are a year out.  Wasn't it just yesterday when I had 18 months to plan?! We have a tasting coming up at our venue, and I'm so nervous about it.  My venue refused to let us try the prime rib (the one dish we really want to serve at our wedding).  We can either have day-old prime rib or pay $150 to have them make it fresh.  Does anyone else thing this is crazy?  I'm just hoping the food is good.  If not, I might have to find another venue... which THAT will be lovely.. *sigh*

I've been engaged for a little over a month now. I'm kinda freaking out because I would love an October 4th wedding next year but we have nothing planned yet. I'm just in the beginning stages of planning. I've called lots of venues and feel like I'm getting closer to finding the right one. The main issue is that we are on a very tight budget and have basically no money for the deposits that all these places will need. If we wait another month or two to find a venue and set a date, will we have a hard time finding places available?

@vebremmon You are not too late! We are just super productive people here. Many of us have been engaged since January or even earlier and we couldnt stand twiddling our thumbs any longer. Keep calling places and aim for Oct '14. If you find the place your in LOVE with try and get a deposit down ASAP. If you are flexible on days, Fridays and Sundays tend to be cheaper and less popular.

    Good Luck and Congrats!

My wedding date is October 26, 2014. Last February the FI and I had gone to Mohegan Sun (casino in Connecticut) for a Bon Jovi concert, but was cancelled due to 40 inches of snow. We were stuck at the casino, as was Bon Jovi (so they kind of did the concert anyways), but they officially rescheduled for Oct 25, 2013. So, we will be back at Mohegan Sun for our 1 year "pre-anniversary"...Friday the 25th is the concert, and for Saturday the 26th I'm surprising the FI by booking a suite (he thinks we got the standard room) and a couples' spa day and reservations at Bobby Flay's Bar Americain. Can't wait! :)

@vebremmon - you are definitely not too late!  A friend of mine just planned her beautiful wedding in under 6 months!

We also just got engaged about a month ago.  I actually would prefer an engagement that is less than a year, but due to our families and work schedules, an October wedding will work out really well for us.

Start looking at some places and I'm sure you'll be able to find one that you love.
