Ceremony Readings about Family??

Does anyone have suggestions or ideas for a reading about family for our ceremony? We want to have a semi-short reading as part of a way to honor our families. I was hoping for something that touches on both the importance of our families or origin and our newly forming family together.

It really could be anything -- a poem, children's book, movie quote, etc. Preferably not super religious or super cheesy. I can't seem to find anything! Any help would be greatly appreciated! :)

Thank you!!

Re: Ceremony Readings about Family??

  • Not sure if this is still relevant or not--but my aunts had their officiant read something about how parents teach us to love, and it is by our parents love that we are able to love another, and so we must always be thankful for them. My FI and I are planning on doing something similar.
