  Why doesn't she start by designing invitation suites that fit her personal style and sell them on Etsy?
  
  It's expensive to buy a booth slot at a bridal show, and if she's not yet had actual clients to write testimonies...she won't get much business.

  She has done small stuff for friends weddings and many other businesses/events but wants more wedding items. She will create some on her own but some people's ideas are much different than her taste but she will still have to work and design something for them. That's why I wanted to come here to get some outside ideas for her to help her.

  My friend is a graphic designer and looking into doing wedding invitations/other related items on the side. She would like to start going to bridal shows to promote what she does but she would like to come up with some more basic themes/ideas to show people a variety of things she has created and how she can turn their ideas into the item they envision! Sooo I would love if you ladies could tell me a basic theme/color/what you envision you guys did/are doing for your wedding (Fall, traditional,flowers, etc) and she can then start making more designs to show at these events. Thanks so much!

  I suggest she watch wedding shows, such as Four Weddings, to figure out what is "in" these days for weddings as well as look around on pinterest and etsy.

  A lot of what I see online (weddingpaperdivas, vistaprint, shutterfly, etc.) has a lot of graphics (flower prints, cutesy pictures, background designs, etc.). We are looking for something much simpler with just our wedding colors and a creative font design. I love the idea of using a fun font as a graphic element and you can be so creative with it. 

  
  

  If it helps, our colors are eggplant and champagne and I have used hints of pale mint green. We're going for a vintage look with burlap and lace and we'll have calla lilies for the flowers.

  Go on pinterest and search weddings (or look at wedding photos uploaded on here) and your friend can design sample invites for those weddings...
