Hi
All,
I didn't
post a lot during planning but wanted to share reviews in case anyone has or is
thinking of any of my vendors. Also a HUGE THANK YOU to Vegasgroom for your
site- I was really worried about planning this wedding long distance but after
reading your site, I knew it was possible!
Hertz
Rental Car: A The line was a bit slow but all in all no complaints.
We originally had a Mazda reserved but since it was DH birthday the guy
gave us a mustang as an upgrade...it was tight with all our luggage but we made
it fit
Fit for
a Bride: B Okay so my dress and DH suit turned out great in the end.
However, they were originally scheduled to pick up my dress Tuesday at 4- (the
day we landed). I got a call at 3 saying they were at Ceasar's now and since I
wasn't there they would just pick up in the AM and still drop off on Thursday
PM. I wasn't worried and since we still hadn't left the rental car area
it was fine with me. The next AM I drop dress and suit off at Ceasar's Bell
Desk at 7:30 AM and left VM for them. I get a call at 9:30 AM while
shopping for DDB supplies saying they were at Caesar’s and my dress wasn't
there and that I needed to go back and let them know when it is available.
I still don't know where the disconnect was but for the 60 minutes when
my dress was "MIA" was torture and I was freaking. I told Donna
that I had left it at Bell Desk exactly as told and that I was headed back.
By the time I got back to the hotel- our stuff was then picked up by Fit
for a Bride and the bellman at Caesar’s said he didn't know what they were
talking about (see more about that below). When Donna called again to
confirm she had the dress she then told me she wouldn't charge me an additional
pick up fee- this makes me think something went wrong on their end but who
knows. In the end, we got everything back by Thursday and the dress and
suit looked great.
Caesar’s
Palace: A
for Room/Wedding Services: So we stayed here 5 nights- when we arrived our room wasn't
ready but no biggie we went to get our marriage license. They were able to
upgrade us to a fabulous room that overlooked Venus Garden where we were
getting married so I was thrilled. Lindsay was my wedding coordinator and she
was awesome; got back to my emails quickly and everything with ceremony was
great. The garden was beautiful and we had a sunset ceremony so the
lighting was amazing.
Caesar’s
Bell Desk/Housekeeping Okay so the bad part: the Bell Desk Captain was rude
to me during the whole dress fiasco. When I got back to hotel and ask him if he
remembered me dropping my dress off he started yelling about how Fit for a
Bride didn't know what they were talking about and how he doesn't care what
their parking situation was...I saw red and yelled back that I just wanted my
dress back!!!! Thank God another bell captain intervened and calmed me down and
stated that the dress was picked up and everything was fine. On Thursday
(day before wedding), housekeeping threw away my boutineers. I had them delivered earlier as the best man and
DH were staying at different hotels and rather than running around day of, I
wanted to hand them out the day before.
The boutineers were on a table with several gift bags and other
wedding items I had lined up for distributing later on- yet somehow the housekeeper thought the box was garbage-
UGH. I learned my lesson to not have anything out or it can be considered trash. In the end, I was able to get
replacement ones made up.
Polished:
A+ Since we had a rental car, I decided to go off strip for my
nails. I love, love, loved my manicure!
If you are getting your nails done in LV, highly recommend going
there. It’s a huge salon and they
have tons of options. I got a gel manicure and it is still looking great now
and received tons of compliments!
Fed
Ex Office Center Hughes Drive A++- I used the online service to
upload my image for the guestbook and they were able to print it in a 16x20
poster with a canvas back so we can hang in our home. They were able to
complete it in less than 24 hours.
We also used them to ship materials back home. This office is open 24/7
so I recommend it over the Convention Center location as that has limited hours
and if there is a convention going on at that time, they may not be able to
turn your work over quickly.
Julie
Reed Events A: I didn’t want to spend a lot on flowers and
loved the look of ostrich feathers so I used Julie Reed for renting feathers
for centerpieces and creating my and MOH bouquet, the boutineers and day of
coordination. Julie was able to create my bouquet and centerpieces within
budget and creating the look I wanted. When I found out the boutineers were
thrown out, I called Julie in a panic and she was able to produce new ones for
me. She also created a sign and
escorted guests who stayed at different hotels to the Gardens for the ceremony
and guided everyone to Joe’s (which was helpful since that can be a bit of a
long walk)
DDB-
A: By chance the meeting area for the bus happened to be near
Joe’s so when I was dropping off my guestbook, I noticed that Caesar’s was
closing off the area for an auto convention event. I called Mike and asked if
he was aware- he wasn’t and so we made alternate arrangements for pick up
area. Unfortunately, that area was
underground and the bus couldn’t enter.
Mike met me and my group there and walked us to the new meeting place.
Outside of that, the bus ride was fantastic! It was chilly that night so half my group stayed downstairs,
but a great time was had by all- we did the 3 hour tour and stopped at the
Vegas Sign for a group photo, Freemont Street and we did stop at the fountains
for the end of a performance. We had lots of Vegas newbies and this definitely
was a hit- I definitely recommend it!
Okay that’s
it for now- I will post more reviews later(Joe's, Sound Fusion, Stevee Danielle,etc..)..we just got back from honeymoon and
I’m still jet lagged
