Honeymoon Registries

Does anyone know of a good company to go through?

Re: Honeymoon Registries

  • If you try and post this on the forum at large, the answer you're going to get is:
    NONE!

This is considered rude, etiquette wise.  Also, all of those websites take a portion of the money people give to your 'registry' as a fee, so that $50 Aunt Kathy is giving to you for your trip, you're only going to get SOME of it.

The advice always given "out there" is create a small registry.  This gives people an option who would rather buy you a gift to buy you one, but it also leads people to offer you cash or checks instead, in which case you will receive 100% of the money given to you, instead of just a portion of it.

There is a 7% fee, but you get the option of paying it yourself, or letting your gift giver pay it. It may be rude to some people, but for brides like myself, who can't afford a honeymoon and aren't hoping for the traditional gifts, this is a great alternative :)
