Re: Hey where is everyone?

  • I am! When is your date?
  • I was tempted to post something similar the other day! Another Tucson bride here. Date is 11/16 so coming up fast! What about yours?
  • Awesome more Tucson brides! Mine is a year away 10/4/14!

  • @babels817 - do you have your venue picked out yet? How is your vendor search going? We're exactly four weeks out from this Saturday and so everything is pretty much done - I've loved the planning process and am going to miss it when it's over!
  • Where is everyones venue at? We are looking at April of 2015, but still haven't picked a place yet! Any advice?
  • We finally picked our venue, we're getting married at the Stillwell house downtown.  It was a bit of a stressful situation at first because everyone was telling me I needed to book a year in advance but so far our experience with Stillwell has been great.

@OjitosVerdes-Thats so exciting you are only a few weeks away!! Any suggestions on photographers?

  • Thought I'd chime in as another who's still around. Our date is 5/24/14 so still some time but not a ton. So far it looks like we're using a private residence, though I'm a bit surprised by how much they want for it.  We still have to arrange catering and renting tables so I'm not sure if its as great of a deal as I had hoped.  Looking at the Whistle Stop Depot and as nice as the contact is, she's hard to pin down a price from.

Curious if anyone has good leads for cake, flowers or alterations that don't break the bank as we're paying for it ourselves.
  • Congrats!

I just got married in Tucson on October 19.   We got married at the Hilton El Conquistador and it was amazing!

Everything was really great. Let me know if you have questions or need input on local vendors.

  • @StephanieDAc - We're getting married at Tubac - we love the grounds, but the drawback is that it isn't right in town.

@babels817 - it felt like we always had "a few more months to go", but somehow the date totally snuck up on us and is just a couple weeks away! The next 11 months are going to fly for you! The Stillwell house is gorgeous, and it's so good to hear that you've had a great experience with them. Our photographer is from the LA area - he is married to one of my college girlfriends which is how I found out about him. He is awesome and I'm more than happy to share his info - also, my venue gave me a list of recommended local photographers which I could share if you'd like, too.

@SalzMaedchen - although we didn't end up going with her for flowers (her flowers are gorgeous and very traditional bridal - we ended up choosing a more contemporary look), I've read that Silvia from Celebrations by Silvia can do great things with flowers without breaking the bank. She is doing our linens, and has been fantastic to work with. Her sister, Iliana from Sweet Creations, is doing our cake and we absolutely love her, too- she isn't the least expensive in town, but is willing to work with you and your budget.

@mandy58569 - congrats on you recent wedding! El Conquistador is such a gorgeous location and I'm sure your wedding was beautiful!
  • Hi everyone!

I was married September 28 at Agua Linda Farm and miss planning terribly!

I worked with the following vendors and LOVED them!  I can't recommend them all enough and they all worked well within our modest budget:

    Venue: Agua Linda Farm

    Photographer: Anita Shay Photography

    Videographer: CSM Wedding Films

    Florist: Elaine Taylor Fine Flowers

    Caterer: Annette Hartman Catering

Cake: Sugar Song Custom Cakes (we went a bit over budget here a bit, but she delivered and the cake was everything I wanted)

Coordination: I am a wedding coordinator so I took care of this myself.

    Hair/make-up: Margarita GoDiva

If anyone has any specific questions about our vendors, prices, or my experiences please let me know.  I'm happy to answer!
