addressing the invites

I have been looking online about the correct way to address my invites and a lot of them same like on the outer then the inner envelope .. I only have one envelope the outer one.. For example my cousin would I do mr. (and his name) and guest? or how do I address the guest part?

@lleah7, my screen doesn't show any information, but Martha Stewart has been known to give terrible etiquette advice.
OP, I would address the invitation to the person you are inviting, and enclose a small, handwritten note "You are invited to bring a guest." inside with the invitation. I don't really like "and guest" on the outer envelope.

I know CMG disagrees with this, but we just put "and guest" on the outer envelopes. If anyone is in a relationship, just remember you need to write that person's name on the envelope, not just "and guest."
