Perforated tag problem

I purchased some tags for our favors that I did not realize were perforated and had to be torn apart...there was NOTHING about it in the product description. They are great tags, save for the fact that they have all these little bumps around the edges and look tacky once you take them apart. Anybody have a secret to "minimizing" perforations?

If you gently rub a damp sponge over the edge, does it smooth out any?

What did you think would happen if you walked up to a group of internet strangers and told them to get shoehorned by their lady doc?~StageManager14

Might be silly, but can you carefully cut a new edge? Could work if it'a solid color with no border.
