Replace or Stay the Same?

One of my bridesmaids recently dropped out of my wedding, which is April 5th of this year. I'm torn if I should keep it as 3 bridesmaids and have one groomsmen walk down alone or if I should ask one of my older best friends if she would be in my wedding. I'm just worried about getting a dress in on time and altered. Help please! I know in the end it's my choice, I just like to hear options...

Re: Replace or Stay the Same?

  • Do not replace her. Have one girl walk down with two guys.
  • Do not replace her.  The replacement will fee like she was a second choice because that is exactly what she is.  Also, the friend who dropped out will feel that she is easily replaceable.

  • Don't replace her.  The new bridesmaid would feel like a B-lister or a stand-in.  The old one would feel hurt too.

For the reasons sated above by PP, do not replace her.  Uneven sides are fine!  You can even have one girl escorted by 2 guys.  This happened to me once as a BM, I was escorted by both of the groom's brothers.
  • Definitely don't replace. Alternatively, you could have the groomsmen all walk out to together with the groom at the front, and the girls could walk down the aisle unescorted.
