Wedding Invitations & Paper

who's name goes on the invite......

so we're ordering invitations soon and having issue trying to figure out how to word the invitations.

my father is really hosting the wedding. he has been beyond generous and is paying for the entire reception. so naturally his name will be on the invitiation. fiance's, mother has been great and actually paid for the photographer. does this mean that she too should be on the invitation? i don't want to disrespect either parents, but we also want to make it clear that my father is the one hosting.

so what's some good wording for this situation?

Re: who's name goes on the invite......

  • PSICHISK FATHER requests the honor of your presence for the wedding of PsiChick and PsiChickFI, son of FI's Parents. Of course, this leaves your mom off, but I don't know what that situation is...

  • my mother and his father have both passed away.

i figured that something like that would be the route to take. thanks!
  • In our case, we went with "Bride and Groom, along with their parents, request the honor..."  My parents are the ones paying for the wedding, but didn't like the implication that they're selling me off or whatever...and both sets of parents were thrilled to be included on the invite.
